Re: Wanna Help Translate DM2 into Spanish?

You may have to log in to Google to edit it. I'm not sure. Here's a download link for the spreadsheet.

Wanna Help Translate DM2 into Spanish?

I've setup a Google Docs spreadsheet that anyone can fill in with Spanish replacements for the English words. When it's filled out I'll upload a modified Graphics.dat file for others to play DM2 with. I took some Spanish in high school but mostly I'd be looking up words on the Internet. Anybody more...

Re: I would like to translate to Spanish, is it possible?

Alright guys, I combed through the graphics.dat in kentaro's editor and pulled all the English text into an Excel document. I'm hosting it on Google Docs for anyone here to edit.

Re: I would like to translate to Spanish, is it possible?

It is very possible. Take a look at http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=node/721 . I would recommend changing all the English text entries to Spanish. It would be easier that way.

Re: Rocks (as a sling ammo) in DM2 Skullkeep

The subject of 'useless weapons' in video games is interesting. Most games have them. At least in DM2 there is some balance between weapon prices and strength, so investing in, say, a rapier, is not a bad deal for the money. The really cheap stuff like plain clubs doesn't make sense. You can easily ...

Re: Meteor Blade

It's a great mechanic to exploit if you want money. A Serpent Staff is worth a TON. It's faster than killing off Axemen and as a bonus, it doesn't create hundreds of unnecessary piles of bones which clog up the map.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Castle Skullkeep.

For the past month, I have been recreating the entire Dungeon Master 2 map in Minecraft. Each tile in-game maps to a 2x2x2 area in Minecraft to create a realistic scale. The castle walls and floors are complete but nothing inside is detailed. The initial town area, however, is pretty much complete. ...

I've had DM2 for Macintosh for many years and it never occurred to me to convert the animations and upload them! Quicktime Pro is all that you need to read them and export them to a better format (like MPEG 4)!

Re: Port DM2 to Windows?

The 'best' version of Dungeon Master II is the Macintosh version, IMO. It has a few screen layout options, graphics smoothing options, cd-quality sound, and better graphics (mostly just the monsters, IIRC) than any of the others. It may be difficult to play because it has/had problems on the Basilis...

From my best interpretation of the actuators, placing all of the correct items in the cauldron triggers the a...

If you can run programs for OS 9 (via Classic mode or Rosetta), you can run the Mac OS 7 version of DM2. It's easier to get running than the DOS version.

If you're quick enough, you can make a few Snake Staffs (staves?) and run back to the Axemen's woods to retrieve the ingredients before they are redistributed. They're lighter than Axes, and they're worth several times as much. It's a good money-making strategy if you're not good at fighting Axemen.

Theron's Quest playable on Nintendo Wii!

Thanks to homebrew coder eke-eke, there is now a Turbografx/PC Engine/SuperCD2 emulator for Nintendo Wii that supports CD games in ISO or BIN form. If you've got a method of running homebrew on your Wii, this could be a project to watch out for. http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showthread.php?p=33119#...

The Axemen's stolen goods get redistributed to the shops, if you go through the trouble to study the actuators with Kentaro's editor. I was VERY upset when I lost my Blue Steele to that. Those things are not cheap!

I recently got DM2 to run in Virtual PC 5 on my Mac. I tried the latest DOSBox, but I got stuttering and sound problems at any speed. Here's what I did: 1. Install VirtualPC 2. Create a blank hard drive image, whatever size you want. Doesn't need to be huge. 3. Obtain MS-DOS 6.22 floppy disks or ima...

I have always picked Equus for the plate that he starts with, but he usually makes a strong fighter and ends up with more mana than Torham. For my magic users, I like Seri and Graen. They start out with high mana and make some pretty awesome casters when equipped with the Numenstaff and Emerald Orbs.

All I can remember is that he was an absolute ***** to kill the first time. I got stuck in his trap and it bludgeoned me to death. After I figured it out, I tried to trap HIM in it, but he broke the spike-wall! It took me awhile to learn how to effectively use magic to beat him.

I often blocked the portals with torches. Not directly in front, but a square away. I also got into the habit of putting torches in doorwarys where they came from, so I kept them all contained inside Skullkeep. But we've meandered off topic.
