Actually you can add teleport to the movable wall and then add alcove to it. As far as I remember you must save and reload your project to be able to add alcove to the movable wall.

I'm not sure it's actually wrong. Take under consideration a lock and lockpicks. You should hear a "click" sound each time while using lockpicks on the lock regardless the probability. The same reffers to pressure pads, buttons, etc. Maybe you should consider another approach to enable an ...

Hi, I want to create items that adjust stats, but the only way to do this seems to be to clone an aleady existing one, I can't choose which stat to adjst,or by how much. Not implemented (yet?). You can set only monsters' stats in current RTC version. I want to create an alcove that replenishes an it...

Star Wars - Episode III

Most of you are probably going to the cinema to look the latest episode. I've been amused by reading what parallels some people are seeing beetween the film story and political reality in world. It looks like the most political film since Fahrenheit 9/11  Some examples below: http://cbs4boston...

You may also check IP addresses (if you have it in log files), especially the first two numbers and then if they are the same you could ban all IP range.

I found some trouble when I tried to connect 3 counters in the way as below: COIN_SLOT1 -> C1 ********************* \ ********************* C3 -> SHOOTER ********************* / COIN_SLOT2 -> C2 C1,C2 & C3 count = 2 You can easily notice that the shooter should be activated when you put 2 coins ...

Your counter can activate a relay and then relay will deactivate this counter as many times as you want (maximum 8 times, but you can use more relays if necessary). So, if you have, for example, a counter with count=4, you can set for such relay 4*dectivate the counter. This kind of "reset"...

Look at the counter (21,24,5) on standard DM map and connected with it 4 switches. This is a good example. Another example: You have one door and two triggers on floor. Door can be opened only when two triggers get a proper item (e.g. stone). If you remove the item from one of triggers then door wil...

Toggling of counters is already used in certain situations and changing its behaviour would destroy backward compatibility.

However the counter reset would be a very useful idea but not in this way.

Sadly the theory is wrong. RTC saves whatever you put as the filename as a binary stream without looking at it at all. It then passes the stream directly to the DirectX APIs. When the file is compiled etc it makes no difference whatsoever; it's just a string of bytes that RTC knows nothing about; i...

Interesting - as you say, it's down to the DirectX layer as RTC just passes the byte stream into the DX APIs and "hopes" it works. RTC itself doesn't actually *do* anything with the data. It just came into my mind that DX has probably nothing to do. The error occurs when the project is co...

If you take an uncompressed PCM WAVE file and save it in a .RTC file, it's automatically compressed by around a factor of 4 (George's RTC format is compressed, like a ZIP file). If your compressed WAVE file is in 4-bit ADPCM formt, you'll be making around about the same savings. WAVE files are gene...

I think that Steem is quite good. A few years ago it was the only emulator I could run Chaos Strikes Back.

Steem home page is here:

Don't forget to download a TOS Rom (equivalent of Amiga KickStart )

[Done for V0.38] Cursed weapons & armours

As far as I remember (from original DM) there was one particular feature of the cursed sword (and probably the cursed armour too). When it was put into hand of character it stayed there and wasn't possible to remove it.
Would it be possible to implement such element for RTC too?

Today I discovered a strange minor bug. When a cloned monster with flip=-1 is visible through a portcullis door it flips as if this parameter were positive. If I open the door it stops flipping and then if I close again it starts flipping again. Test example is here: http://www.traser.republika.pl/o...
