Just an hour of game and it is a dream coming true! :P I am feeling that I am "at home", with torch, doors, secret, button, shuriken, little details on walls...It is definitively the Dungeon Master spirit. It is even better when taking the old school approach with paper, scotch-tape, penci...

Some months far from the DM World here and what I see when I come back (and also on RockPaperShotgun...)? A true successor of DM ready to be bought?? Warlords! All my youth! Hours spent on Warlords on my old Amiga 500 (still operational, the Amiga). Orcs of Kor versus Lord Bane! I hear in my mind, after some many years, the sound of the start of each turn. Tuuu tu tuuuu! Glad to see that I am not alone to make sometimes (even now) a party or two ...

Hello folks, First, how can I have missed the B6 of ConfluxIII? What a shame for me... Note that the maps I am able to produce in HTML is just the user-friendly side of the sck tool. The full process includes a full dump of the dungeon maps in XML, then conversion in HTML using a XSL stylesheet loca...

Quicktime pro doesn't seem to be free, as far as I am able to understand the Apple site. Next, after years of playing with my PC, Quicktime won't have anymore the privilege to be installed on it :) So, I cannot comment on your suggestion. By the way, the deal with moov and mov file formats (which ar...

I was trying last week to see DM2 Macintosh animations but it was a real pain! So, after reading some doc and an old post between Gambit and Christophe, I manage to convert all these videos into decent format. The results are: DM2 Mac videos published on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/user/GreatSt...

For PC-9821, my first trial has been done with SNDA already but the quality if some sounds was so ugly than I was not sure at all to choose the right one...
It is perhaps SNDA or perhaps somethinf very similar. Will wait to see if some genius are lurking around to help me.

@Sphenx: send me the custom graphics.dat, as there are some very experimental features inside, able to "automatically" build a mapfile, after some guess, manual tweaking, and trials. Perhaps I will be able to build myself your mapfile in 1 hour, if entries first item is ok. @Gambit: my wor...

Re: [sck] v1.4 for DM2 stuff

Hello Sphenx, Indeed, this release supports "officially" only FTL DM2 releases. sck knows the MD5 hash code of each release and is able to use the right mapfile to do the extraction based on this code. Moreover, I need a mapfile because there are plenty of different file formats used by ea...

One year after you query, Gambit, here is finally a positive answer :)
DM2 is supported by the last release of the sck, with its own set of specific features.

A new release of the "sck" tool is out ( http://greatstone.free.fr/dm/index.html )and can now extract nearly all items from any DM2 graphics.dat files . It means DM2 Amiga, FM-Towns, IBM-PSV, Mac (en/jp/demo), PC-9801, PC-9821, PC (0.9,1.0(en,fr,ge,demo)), SegaCD, MegaCD . Previously unkn...

Re: [sck] release 1.3 is out and handles animations

@Bit For CSB palette issue, that's because the sck tries to extract also the palette directly from the original files and I don't know where it is in this version. Perhaps I can add some hard-coded palettes in the sck to deal with such situations and have correct colors. I will see what I can do. w...

Re: [sck] release 1.3 is out and handles animations

Hello Bit,

Can you precise me the file that you try to extract and the impacted items?
ex: CSB Amiga 3.5 (en) graphics.dat, items 0001 to 0005
The sck is able to extract many many versions/files, and such detail is necessary to understand the problem, if any.

Re: [sck] release 1.3 is out and handles animations

Hello Gambit,

The link for the zip file has been fixed. Thanks for the short notice!
I will try now to update the mapfile inside the sck to "automatically" handle at least the DM2 PC graphics.dat.
Next, write extractor for the on-going hard work from Christophe about DM Nexus?

[sck] release 1.3 is out and handles animations

Delay between each release is longer each time, but that's life :) So, a new release for the sck tool has been published today ( http://greatstone.free.fr/dm/index.html ). Hello Lighthouse,

Is it possible to post again the files (with and without music) as the first ones seems to be dead?
It would be great to have also the intro of the 0.01 release, as it is also lost in space.

Thanks!
