Re: CSBuild comments and suggestions
I think CSBuild's current item editors (item as in any actuators, doors, etc) are more then sufficient for what we need. It may be a bit confusing for people who do not program and/or people who have not "studied" CSB/DM dungeons like others have... But DM/CSB is a very confusing game! I s...

Re: CSBuild comments and suggestions
Wow, that was... enclypedic? (hehe) Anyway, a few more clarifcations are needed, but i understand most of what you stated (And/Or gates make sense to me now, and will prove useful in dungeon-craft) When using set/clear targeting an and/or actuator, you say it sets/clears a single specified bit. How ...

Re: CSBuild comments and suggestions
Regarding floor actuators and wall actuators. Your individual actuator editors are a bit confusing, i was wondering if you could perhaps clarify them a bit: And/Or Gates (also called And/Or logic): What exactly is "Edge detection" and what do each of their values mean? I have yet to test i...

Re: Race to the Fulya Pit
I tried countless times, and the only result I got was constant pain and suffering at the couatl (sp?) section of "dain". But you are 100% correct antman, it does prove to be a LOT of luck. Speed boots and eyes of time (which are randomly placed) , i can't wait to see what you picked up in...

CSBuild comments and suggestions
I would appreciate it if the new CSBuild comments, suggestions, and discussions from the previous "80+ number of replies" thread be focused to this thread. I apologize for anyone who would rather have it "all in one bundle for reference", but my macintosh computer (laugh it up) n...

Re: DMuting CSB
Why not allow for editing of "how" the monsters are placed, but not prohibiting abnormal possibilities? For instance, allow someone to place 3 worms on a tile, but give a warning (not one that pops up, or has at least the option to "ignore this error from now on"). This way your ...

Re: DMuting CSB
Paul, any chance that you can make a "random dungeon" feature like diablo?
Of course, having random puzzles could be hard, but someone like yourself surely has enough time and initiative to make a random dungeon generator!
hEHhehEhehEhehEhEhe, im just kidding!

Re: DM2 Editiors
Sphenx, I don't know if you've tried it or not, but in my alpha version editor that i was working until my pc died (new parts in the mail) could open DM2 dungeon.dat files perfectly fine. The only difference between the format is that it uses one additional tile type (which i do not know the functio...

Re: What is the DSA?
Were DSA's a feature built into CSB or did you implement that in CSB4win only? DSA's as an idea are downright heavenly, but I only hope that after implementing DSA's, its still possible to convert the new dungeon.dat files for use with any other CSB/DM client then CSB4win. Also, The concepts of DSA'...

Bug in v951 and 951a
Interesting bug nonetheless, but if a mummy is facing to the right (from players perspective) and 3 rooms away, it draws the image mirrored (looks like its facing left instead). A good example is to walk around the mummy-horn of fear area in CSB and move back and forth. The image will apear to mirro...

About the directory entry information:
Why is there over 10000 entries in the "directory file" (first extracted file), but yet only around 5000 files in the graphics.dat file?
I've been tryin to figure that out, but im stumped!

<t>About the time spent to time saved theory:<br/> <br/> I totally agree, which is why i stick to visual basic for creating apps like that (It is, by definition, "ease of use"). <t>Undo, copy, paste, cut:<br/> <br/> I was referring to the actual tile editing actually, for example, you can cut a tile, and you cut everything about it, making it a strict wall. If you paste, it will paste that tile anywhere, including monsters in it, items in it, type of tile, teleporter, door,...

<t>Make it easier!<br/> <br/> My thoughts about a great editor is ease of use, functionality, and quickness (in that order). If you have functionality but shitty ease of use/quickness, you may as well hex edit the dungeon =[<br/> <br/> Here are some ideas for "ease of use" for CSBuild:<br/> <br/> 1)...

Re: interesting facts about CSB
Wil: As for the Diamond edge being the same in both DM and CSB, i cannot guarantee that. Theres a lot of very small differences between the 2 games (i.e, the power of the fireballs shot by dragons), and i can only guess since i haven't looked into the DM graphics.dat RAW files at all. But as for whe...
