You could use a DSA for this. I actually made a DSA that took 2 parameters (A = location of upper left bounds of an area, B = locationf lower right bounds of an area) and actually went through the entire area room by room checking for a specific monster. When the monster moved, it would do a set on ...

Monster drops are an interesting phenomenon, I'll make it clear how it works here. Each monster has a specific 'starting point' on the monster drop chart. For instance, Dragon#1 is the first drop to check when a dragon dies, knight#1 is the first to check when a knight dies, etc. When a monster dies...

Theres a lot of quirks in CSBWin, originating in the atari version, where certain 'dependancies' are not checked in the game, but rather just simply 'counted on'. For instance, I've noticed that all graphics have a width of multiples of 16, as well as most graphic information stored in 558 are all m...

Yes, i did think about the re-import all the graphics in a folder type feature. I'm not really sure exactly how to create it. I can of course do it, its just the factor of HOW it should work. I could make it so you designate certain graphics that are 'extracted' to a folder, then all reimported at t...

Nice work kentaro, that is definately a very nice addition to ADGE. There is one issue, your compiled ADGE executable has broken editors, some of the graphics for the background of the editors (like the walls being shown while editing wall decorations) don't work anymore. This was entirely MY fault ...

Thats the best explanation I have seen so far. I have many different coloured worms slithering about! Whats the lowdown with the 'transparent' pixel, as this differs monster to monster. ADGE says they all use the magenta pixel: I just use what the existing one was, such as cyan for dragon, light gr...

ADGE will import graphics as any size and save the graphics in the graphics.dat file as *THAT* size. Whether the game accepts this value or not is up to you to figure out. For instance, taking the monster vexirk and replacing it with the images of a knight (obviously an increase in width/height of t...

I never carry food or water around in dm1, especially after level 7 (I wont spoil anything but ill give you a tip). Its not too hard to walk back up to an area thats easily accessible, so storing your food in a place you know how to get to allows you to walk back to that area if you are low on food ...

DSA's controlling spells? Yeah that is a whopper! You could then keep track of fireballs or VI potions and manipulate the map accordingly =] I could think of a few tricks to use with that but it is unneeded =] As for a custom non official CSB4win, I guess if you say 'Who cares' and nobody else has a...

I am especially inattentive to people who only like to brainstorm work for others. If you can show me a project and explain why it needs a new spell then let's go for it. And of course you can always make custom CSBwin.exe just for yourself. If it is for a particular project then about the only dow...

CSBwin modified to add custom spell effects?
This is a more of a question about whether or not this is a step we should take in the future of CSB4win and what you guys think (agree/disagree why?). In CSBEdit (my graphics.dat editor which edits spells, monsters, attacks, food etc), each spell has a type and result associated with it. Requires f...
