Re: [RTC] The Chaos Mirror
It's okay, I've moved on to Dark Reign. I'll come back to this again later. I started with this path and haven't touched the other three. Heard that this was the hardest one.

Re: [RTC] The Chaos Mirror
Is it possible there is a bug here? One of the death knights was able to escape out of the first trap area by fluke I think, and I had to kill it in the hallway leading to the trap. Could that have somehow caused the passage to not open up? I just can't find anything here. I've looked for hidden but...

Re: [RTC] The Chaos Mirror
Hmm.... Cleared out all those rooms. Didn't see another passage, but I'll take another look.

Re: [RTC] The Chaos Mirror
Yeah, I completed the order section as well. I was under the impression that the button in the chaos section would be the last one. Guess I'll have to check the lower levels again. There was only one lower section where I couldn't find a button, the bottom section where you have the three "trap...

Re: [RTC] The Chaos Mirror
Ugh, I'm stuck in the Ebon/black way. I've found the black diamond in the Chaos section. I thought this was going to be the last diamond to get to the blood key at the back of the buried room, but surprisingly, there was nothing there. Have I missed another black diamond somewhere? I've looked every...

Re: I'm back... again!
Hey, thanks terkio, I'll check those out. After writing my post, I finally downloaded Conflux 3.5 just to take a peak and.... Holy @#$!. I guess I'd be interested in playing dungeons that are most true to the original two games (DM and CSB). Would the ones you recommended fit that description?

I'm back... again!
Hello again Dungeon Master community. I'm back after another long hiatus. 4 years since my last login, and before that, I think it was an even longer gap. I've been watching these forums for a very long time, ever since RTC was put out by GG back when I was an undergraduate in university. Playing DM...

How to run DSB?
Hi, Apologies for sounding really naive here, but can someone tell me how to actually run DSB on my mac? I downloaded the files, now what? I'm used to the click-able startup icon of RTC. Again, I'm not really a terminal kind of guy and I'm pretty computer illiterate. I just want to play some dungeon...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
I have not finished the game. I was referring to the wallset you find on the same level that has the "shop". Perhaps I can do a screen capture sometime to show you what I mean.

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
It might be a big job, but perhaps you should just change "black pads" to "grey pads" in all scrolls and wall messages then.

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
Another comment: There are many different colored floor pads in UpsideDown. Occasionally there are wall messages or scrolls that refer to "black" pads, but I think you actually mean "blank" pads, the colourless, grey pads from normal DM. Whenever I keep reading black I'm thinking...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
No hints? I guess I should finally download the hint manual. I'd play test version 2.1 for you if you like. I came up with one more suggestion. There is one level of the dungeon that doesn't have the purple walls like the other two. It's more bluish with panels. I have noticed that because of the wa...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
Also, just wanted to say that the music choice for UpsideDown is very appropriate. That tune sticks in your mind and stays with you for a long time. Fits the mood of the dungeon very well. Normally I turn off the music, but not in this one.

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
Well I had a chance to play again today... I went back to the pit where two saw blades come at you. Finally figured out how to deal with that. Next I went to the hierophant's palace. I had to do a wikipedia search to solve the entrance riddle, and that was very satisfying. Then I solved the wheel of...

Do you ever map by hand?
Just curious for all DM players old and new... Have you ever had to sit down and create a map by hand (pencil and paper) to keep track of where you're going so you don't get lost (assuming you don't have a magic map like the one in CSB - but even then the magic map only shows you the surrounding are...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
Arrgh, still haven't had a chance to play this week, but the game has been on my mind all the time! I really want to play, but I should probably finish that thesis I've been working on for five years first. :D I'm curious, what's all this back story for the "Nine Worlds"? Have you created ...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
I've been wondering about the whole east/west swapping thing too Zyx. But perhaps this relates to something bigger in the dungeon later on. I recall seeing a scroll in the boiler room that said something about this, but I haven't figured out the meaning yet. Sounds like you're much further than me.

Re: DSB on MacBook Pro (via VirtualBox running Windows 7)
Hmm, how do I describe it? First I'll move my mouse, and the arrow doesn't move at all. Then I move it a bit more and the arrow goes flying really fast all the way to edge of the screen. If I move my mouse in really really slow direction, the arrow sort of follows my hand gestures but not in a strai...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
Hah ha, got a bit further yesterday. I successfully navigated the "moon" area and acquired the moon card. I keep wondering what these cards are going to be used for in the end. Probably some horrible puzzle at the end of the game. I then managed to change my clothes at the "shop"...

DSB on MacBook Pro (via VirtualBox running Windows 7)
Hi, Just wanted to let Sofia know that the mouse pointer does not seem to work well on a MacBook Pro running Windows7 via VirtualBox. I can make the pointer move with the mouse, but it doesn't follow my motions at all. I can't even get the pointer to the "Enter" dungeon button :( Oh well, ...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
Okay, I'm a bit further today. I got to the Inn of the Red Boar and couldn't find a way in, so I decided to descend into one of the pits and ended up in an area with many pits and several areas branching off from there. It's getting a bit difficult now since there's no hint as to which way/branch to...

Oh one more thing, I'm a Karen Gillian fan too. After seeing this video of some of her previous work, I realize she can have a real fowl mouth... which makes me like her even more!

Re: New Doctor Who
Ah, some DW fans here I see. I'm generally happy with the new series and I think there's some potential for a very unique ending to this season. Obviously something very bad is going to happen, maybe some horrible time paradox that causes the TARDIS to blow up. One idea I've really liked is the futu...

Re: [RTC] Upside-Down
HEY! I finally got RTC up and running on my mac through VirtualBox (Windows 7). The first custom dungeon I grabbed was Upside-Down and I'm already addicted again. To the writer of this game - please don't feel like making this was wasted time! I love it and any spare moments I have are spent playing...

Back after a long, long time
Dear DM Forum members, Back in the day (~2004) I was an avid RTC player and GG had just released a version of RTC with a visual editor. Then my PC crashed and I decided to get a Macintosh laptop. At the time, macs did not support windows opperating system, but of course now the new ones do because o...

Universal spell list
Okay, I know some people will not agree with the idea because it reduces some flexability with creating new dungeons. I'm suggesting that the actual rune code for new spells be agreed upon here in the RTC forums. If one sticks to the traditional maximum 3 rune code (igonore the power runes), then th...
