Thanks! Extremely simple and rather effective solution. Why did I write all that text when one line would have been enough? lol!

Good day!

Its our friend only until it catches up with our brain, Des. After that, it'll be our enemy...

OK, understood about the flag checking the item's existence rather than its weight. Okay, but then, it still doesn 't work. The ROS way closes as soon as you remove the first dart, not when you remove the last one. If the condition checks for the existence of a dart, then any dart in the object list...

Exactly! Was that the true intent of this? Does the original ST game also worked like this? Meaning: It's not important what is there, as long as the total weight of what is there is equal to the condition? I just found it strage that the way is "open" (that you can enter at all) when the ...

I don't have a "slow" machine. I don't have the latest "bomb" either. But I'm convinced of one thing: displaying 2-D data on today's machines should be near-instantaneous. There are a lot of ways to speed this part. First, whats the deal with 'tens of thousands" of bitmaps? ...

No, Sophia, this is too much work. I mean more like this: A "magical item" weapon with the following actions (probably requiring mana to use): VERSION A: Crystal Ball Action: Voyance (Same as X-Ray Vision Spell) Action: Destiny (displays a single line of hints text) Action: Oracle (access ...

Yes, of course, that is what I did afterwards. ruined my game a bit, of course. The point is that this needs a fix not for the experienced player, but for the random player. What you're telling me is essentially the same as an MMORPG designer being told by some of its players "When my character...

Thank you all for your feedback. Sorry for my graph that didn't turn out as I expected (didn't know spaces would get removed like that). I meant more like this: *******......... ...........**....... ..............**.... .................**. If only ONE thing should be corrcted, then, it is this one:...

Editor: Terms.

in the editor, it is not clear wether activate/deactivate mean opened/sloed or closed/opened. I know that those used to the editor do not see this, but I find it confusing. The state should be clear. At the very least, everywhere the words active/inactive should be used instead of open/close AND ALS...

Editor: Edit Mode

In the editor, left-clicking on a square tries to toggle that square between wall and floor. This is what I cal "Basic Level Layout" mode, which has its uses for about 10% of the work of making a dungeon. But in truth, it would be MUCH MORE useful to have a MODE button that adds "Adva...

[Not a bug] CSB - ROS WAY

In each of the four ways, there is an alcove. Usually, if you put the item back, the way to the center opens back. Except for the ROS way, because there are several poison darts in that alcove. This seems like a bug to me, not with the module itself, but with the way the "Constant Weight" ...

Better Hint Oracle?

I find it cumbersome to always "save" and then "leave the game" and then "reload the game" in order to consult the hint oracle.

Couldn't a CRYSTALL BALL item be added in the game that grants direct access to the hint oracle screen? Or something?

RTC - Options menu

In the save game menu, a games options menu could be added. In that menu, it would be possible to set game options such as difficulty, some game attributes such as game version (is there a lockpick in square X? etc.), or more general gameplay characteristics (use runebooks, type of lighting manageme...

Editor: Level prefetching!

In the editor, it seems that every time I change levels, the editor "loads the level". Just how much memory space is needed to save the entire dungon anyway? The whole dungeon should fit in memory. So: a) When I go to another level, then come back, the level should not be reloaded, but sim...

Editor: bidirectional links!

When in the editor, would it be possible to show both the "arrows pointing *FROM* a square and the arrows from *TO* that square? This would help a LOT in seeing what is affected by what. For example, let's say on level 2 I have a keyhole that opebns a door on level 3. When I select the keyhole ...

[Done for V0.45] Better lighting management?

Hi GG and thanks for your great game engine! How light is handled in RTC doesn't provide a good "gameplay" experience, for the following reasons: a) Why have two spells in the game, Torch and Light, when one is enough, simply by casting it one more time? In the original game, Light was use...

[Fixed for V0.44] Darkness Bug

Hi! Since this is my first post, I would like to thank and congratulate George Gilbert, and all others whose work or input have made a difference, on a superb job! I really like RTC! Now, here is the bug I found: When casting the darkness spell several times until things get REALLY dark, you can't s...
