Re: DMJava V2.1 by Solito : a real clone now
Firstly if your installation is like mine, then you will have to go into the DMJ-Solito-v2 directory, inside which is another DMJ-Solito-v2 directory. In this one will be the complete program. You need to make a short-cut to dmnew.bat. Right click and click properties. In Target you need something l...

Re: DMJava V2.1 by Solito : a real clone now
Hi,
Like your update, However........
I find that when I save on level 2 of Chaos Strikes Back, that the file is corrupted. When I save on level 1 the file is ok.
It will load into the editor but not into the game itself.
I am using java jdk 1.5.0_16.

Nice update, however I am finding that some of the icons in the editor are hidden by the map. I assume you have a widescreen monitor ?

graphics format
So which format would be better for higher resolution graphics?
Would a revision to the code be required to allow for different formats to be used by different users?
Please note that I cannot program and therefore I do not know what problems this would entail.

Graphics
If replacing the graphics would the format have to be changed as *.GIF seems rather limited. *.PNG seems better or would *.JPG be better still? Memory should not be a problem as most of us probably have at least 2gb of memory and 256mb of graphics.

Additions/Changes
I know the original aim was to reproduce the FTL game, however if a modification to the code and graphics is to continue then I have some suggestions. In Alan Berfield version a message saying that a succesful casting of a spell had taken place, as some spells are not always visible this would be us...

It would be good to have some extra features. A line of text to say success with a spell or potion. More information when an object is raised to the eye icon. Such as for custom items the custom number would be useful - I keep looking for items and never seem to find the right one no matter where I ...
