Custom dungeon 'The Tower Of Chaos' review by PicturesInTheDark

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 8. Although I found the way through the dungeon too chaotic despite your claim of "pretty straight forward" in the text file, this is the only criticism I can make here. Otherwise beautifully laid out and a lot of twists and turns to follow until th...

Custom dungeon 'Imprisoned Again' review by PicturesInTheDark

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 9. Well-planned and complex dungeon design guaranteeing (lots of) fun and (a lot more) sweat for days or even weeks. Originality : 8. As I’ve seen by trying out some of your dungeons just for a few levels, you already tried the "4 ways approach" in ...

Custom dungeon 'The Tomb of King Hissssa' review by PicturesInTheDark

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 4. Basically this dungeon is intended for butchers - puzzles are rare and mostly reduced to finding out where keys/coins/gems were left so the next door will open. No good balance in my opinion. Originality : 6. Although I did not like the monster inflation v...

Custom dungeon 'The Grave of King Millias' review by PicturesInTheDark

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 5. Straight dungeon approach with a straight line of play. Without the training area this might have been pretty painful. Originality : 4. Major parallels to the original DM (some parts were simply used from the original), but riddles and paths got more uniqu...

Custom dungeon 'Return of Chaos' review by PicturesInTheDark

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 6. Straight dungeon approach with 3 ways to solve leading to a single final path. Not too heavy to follow, pleasant to play. Originality : 5. Although probably not too hard to build this dungeon had some fun riddles in it. For example, the teleporter room are...

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 6. A bit tough to let the knights in so early or to make a couatl trap room, but on the other hand the fun was there after the first heart attack. Solid work, characters are strong enough to survive with tactics. Originality : 5. Not very mind-blowing, but a ...

Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 7. Good balance between riddles, monsters and the various ways you have to go to get to the end of the dungeon. Originality : 8. Never got bored for a minute. Reviewer : PicturesInTheDark Gameplay : 5. Pretty straight end enjoyable, no time wasted for long searches made the dungeon fun. Originality : 5. Re: Original DM Conversion for DSB?

Hi. I played through the dungeon once (0.69) and most of the original features seem fine. Movement and spell casting is a bit slower than with RTC 0.49, but as far as I remember that is actually truer to the original although it hampers you a bit once you are used to running quickly / casting spells...

Hello Fuzzy, nice being back I'm fine and hope so are you! Thanks for the tip, I was suspecting something like that but wanted to make sure I did not overlook anything. Any recommended dungeons I should be visiting in your view since I had quite a time-out (except the obvious one, of course)?

Thanks Ameena, but that's not it - I checked the monitors AFTER I did the four switches and they were all ok - meaning they also were before when I flipped the switches.

Same problem

Hi to all who remember me - I'm having the same problem as Gambit once had and can't find a solution in the posts here. Playing with RTC 0.45, 3/4 of the monitors are working (except the furnace). I go down, my minions are already placed, put in several Pyros, go back the quickest way I can find via...

The "stay open" and "stay closed" possibilities are the problem since originally I (wrongly) assumed all pressure pads would simply toggle.

Thank you, that answers/confirms one part of my questions, I'll be more specific about the second part. Am I correct in assuming that since the pressure pads in the 5D maze are operated by the party stepping onto them, "set" and "clear" messages will only have any effect on the t...

That was actually what lured me back for more... a new puzzle by Paul Stevens. I took a purely theoretical approach with the help of some sheets and crude drawings and would have had a nice and pretty "quick" solution-or so I thought. I assumed the functionality of the pads operating the b...

Thanks, yes I was indeed trying the builds 1.41 to 1.43. But since 1.4 worked fine and I also did not know the OverlayDemo contained the last exe for CSBwin that probably explains my problems. That means at the moment compatibility exists always between the latest versions but not necessarily backwa...

Theron's quest(s) for CSBwin

I was playing the first two dungeons the other day and notied that in the second there are 3 blue gem holes, one of which -at 2(10,7)- does not have the "only once" checkbox and theoretically swallows gems endlessly. I don't know if it's the same in the original and since there are 5 gems ...

Trying to add a simple item, then savin the game and loading it with CSBwin V9.7 produced an error 2989 ("Saved game damaged). With V1.4 it worked. Are the latest three builds still in development or is that a yet unknown error? Save game can be provided if necessary but should be easy to repro...

It looks a little "glued on", maybe with some shadow on the font (and a little higher up, in the middle of the stone tile) would look better.

CSBuild already has an item value called "broken" but makes no use of it as far as I know at the moment. If it has exactly the same meaning/function as "breakable" would have to be discussed/verified.

About defeating any monster with 500 health... I would not be too sure on that. If we are talking the classical releases (DM, CSB, DM2) you are certainly right. But for some custom dungeons I would not necessarily bet on that...
