Re: Legend of Grimrock 2

The landscape is huge and the dungeons get longer and longer, I really like it. The riddles are hard nuts and I had to look up more than one of them. The fights are quite hard, even on normal difficulty. I sometimes had the feeling that I went the wrong way, but after exploring a bit, I found out th...

Re: Characters that make you feel.. awesome

I totally loved featherfalling in DDO (Dungeons&Dragons Online), expecially from great heights. Also Haste was an awesome buff. Also I am really attracted by damage numbers. The value itself doesn't make a difference (be it 12 millions in Diablo 3 or 250 in Dungeon Master), but it is a clear ind...

Re: Champions you have never used

In other words, the specialists may only be able to do one thing really well at the start, but they do it extremely well. A well-rounded generalist, such as Zed, can do a little of everything but none of it particularly well. The main advantage of the generalists is that they can fit in pretty much...

Re: Legend of Grimrock 2

Some ideas regarding spell casting: *A spellbook to keep track of everything you collected so far would be awesome. I found myself dragging a log of scrolls around, since I couldn't remember everything, but also didn't want to get a spoiler from the internet. *I liked the idea of having to collect r...

I really liked it, added a lot to the flair of the DM remake! I wish I could motivate myself to redo my dungeon in LoG, that would surely find a few new fans.

Re: Champions you have never used

Stamm has a great Stamina combined with a high vitality, so he is quite capable of running and slashing a lot. He has an awful Wisdom, though, which makes him combined with the low mana a bad spellcaster. But since you usually fight and run more than you cast spells, that's ok. I can remember a thre...

In other words, do the randomizing during initialization. In my "teleporting apples"-world, you could to that with a single initialized level, a large room where pressure pads appear or not, depending on the generated code. It's quite easy to make an algorithm for that, binary numbers wil...

Hey petri, I have a question: Now that you have created an awesome game and actually hit the spot of 100s or even 1000s of dungeon crawling veterans and gaming press loves your game, too (see: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/legend-of-grimrock) - how do you feel when you get tons of lists with min...

Re: Legend of Grimrock

What I found somewhat odd about the non-existant group leader: basically you have one free and weightless item slot, this allows you to carry stuff like a full plate armor or tons of scrap metal around, each stuffed in a bag, without any weight problem. Ha ha ha, sneaky, I didn't think of that. Bit...

Re: Legend of Grimrock

So I am through! What a ride! I have almost everything complete, missing 3 secrets and 1 treasure, but I had saved before the end, so I can fix that. Steam says 17 hours playtime so far. Well, to be honest, I did look up a few things. Will definitely start a new game, this time hard and solo (what a...

Re: Legend of Grimrock

Wow, that game is awesome! I wouldn't have thought what some decent graphics can do to DM - it's really a blast when monsters attack you by jumping in the middle of the screen, especially when being surprised from behind, that's done it right where Doom 3 failed. Very immersive and it also kept true...

No, it's only one with the incomplete Firestaff. The completed Firestaff was never supposed to be brought to the start and so there's no alternative ending for it. That makes 2 endings, not 3.

Well, where gorillas live, the ground is not from concrete and thus softer... I have a leather case for my smartphone to protect the display, that worked so far. My smartphone will rather "break" from having a very outdated winCE 6.0 on it, which doesn't run anything with the single except...

That distinction is kind of blurry because most single player first-person shooters are "shooter/adventure" games anyway. This isn't really new, even Quake was full of secret areas. That is actually a huge difference. Quake had awesome level design where you could explore a lot and discov...

So you're saying that all console shooters are crap? At least all those features are crap. I really hoped for a classic Duke, in my eyes, fps went downwards after Quake 2. I didn't play too much newer shooters and so might have missed a pearl between them, but genereally, I despise those console fe...
