I think Dain is easy. Cast Freeze Life a couple of times, whack a few buttons, grab a chest and leg it. Of course, that's if you come off the Junction of the Ways at the correct destination, otherwise you'll have legions of Rives and Water Elementals to fight before you even get close. Oh, and you n...

Gor was deprecated during design, which makes sense from a programming standpoint — lots of games have features that are never used — but then why wasn't it used in any of the sequels? Why leave it in and not use it?
It was used in the versions of CSB with the magic map.

Have you tried upping the memory? There is a tab under hardware then RAM. I can understand you not using the PC version, it's not always the most stable version but rather than emulation you might want to try CSBWin, it has the Atari ST versions of DM and CSB available and runs perfectly. Go to http...

Can you let me know what a good balanced party would be I am not sure if many people will agree but I think: 1. Leif - good, strong fighter who later becomes a great spellcaster. When reincarnated, he can certainly become a great all-round character. 2. Halk - again, he is a good fighter and I've h...

Well, my turn I guess. I am Ian, I am 22 and from Lancashire, UK. I got into DM on the Atari ST in the 1980s. I remember swapping saved games and character portraits with friends at school and I also remember being the first one to finish CSB. I got an editor on disk some time in the early 1990s and...

If you take the activated Firestaff back to the doors, nothing will happen, it needs to be the one you get on level 7; the level with the Stone Golems. Also, there is a secret mechanism that prevents you from taking the activated staff up any further than the Chaos level, it can be avoided though.

Quite easy with an EE Master Fighter and Sonja's axe. There is a really easy way to avoid them altogether. You would probably need the likes of Tiggy or Gothmog in your party though...

I remember fighting hundreds of them but they didn't seem to appear every time I entered the Moria. Maybe I was carrying a dodgy item that kicked it all off, or I stole an item from somewhere.

I am assuming you left the key int he door to keep it open. I've never tried it with a reincarnated Tiggy; I've always used a stronger character such as Leif or Halk (they also become great wizards after training). I once tried it with Boris but gave up because he kept getting killed too easily and running out of food.

I agree, Dragon fireballs seem to be very weak. It might have something to do with the multipliers. I am working on a dungeon and in it, I have a Demon and a Dragon that have brought a test party with 999 health each down to near-death. They even do 200+ damage when I have cast Firesheild a couple ...

I've learned quite a lot of stuff about CSBuild (i.e. and/or gates) by looking at the original CSB and DM dungeons. That's probably the best way to go about it. Are you placing the text on the square directly in front of the mirror? Also, there is no need to touch any of the advanced options unless ...

Simply putting a champion's portrait in a mirror is not enough. You need to create a floor text right in front of it, you will see the option to edit the champions stats when you edit the text, make it invisible. as for your items appearing with different names, you might be using the DM graphics.da...
