Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
@ paul: I was just saying that the one core would be powerful enough. @ quartermass: Sorry about whatever happened. :( I hope that you get better soon. Also, I am using one version back, since I don't want to start again yet. In that version, lightning bolt could easily hit my party for ~300 per per...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
I have to agree with you, Quartermass, that there is a difficulty hump. I personally had trouble with the outrageous numbers of leeches in the sewers for a while, and then eventually I got powerful enough to annihilate them with lightning bolts and just plow through them. However, I don't know if yo...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
I would argue that the Swift Death dagger is worth wielding for a small amount of time to kill a tough enemy, or at least poison it.

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
The effect of the Lyte armor is to heal all the party an amount equal to a healing potion of the same level as the spell. So, at 78 mana for a max level spell as opposed to 44 mana for a max-level healing potion, this spell can be more efficient than potions. Also, it can be cast faster than a potio...

I was wondering, does anybody know what the full set of the Lyte armor is intended to do? I just wanted to know, as it doesn't work for me in B4.

Re: Conflux III : too difficult ?
I usually have to kill huge lines of the leeches in B4, but I usually rush to the Plasma area in the temple through the secret stairway in the Sewers, and down on that same set to kill the golem and the scorpion, and then grab the flask from the Wisdom area. However, it shouldn't surprise any of you...

Re: Dungeon crawl tile version
Recently completed another game of Crawl, again with a Mummy Wizard. This time, I got about 40 demonic runes from Pandemonium, as I just stayed there for a long time to harvest runes, in addition to the full rune set. Also, I finally managed to kill an obnoxious ghost. I had died to Tesla in the Orc...

Re: Conflux III : too difficult ?
First of all, I am using 3.5B4. I would say that the game is well balanced, but the real turning point where you can do a lot more is when you unlock lightning bolt, since it has the ability to kill huge amounts of enemies at once. Perhaps the lightning bolt is a bit too powerful, but I like it that...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
Christopher, I ran into the same problem. I just put the sticky one in the zokathra lock in that room though, to activate the door. Oh, and I will try to find out about the Death level, even just so that other people can figure it out. Also, the curse of the Darc armor is somewhat nasty, but definit...

Re: Dungeon crawl tile version
First of all, I NEVER save-scum. I have beaten Dungeon Crawl 3 times, once with a 3-rune game with a orc priest, and 2 full rune games, one with a Dwarf Paladin, and once with a Mummy Wizard. I have beaten vanilla Nethack 3 times, with a Gnome Ranger, a Dwarf Valkyrie, and a Human Tourist. I have be...

Does anybody else know what the Shield of Neta does? It appears to be a small shield, that I got from one of the tributes on the spider level when I used a wooden shield. Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
All diseases can be cured by health potions, but some are harder to cure than others. For instance, to get rid of the diseases from Vecna's curse, I had to use about 20 max-level health potions per character. Some diseases just have a lower chance to be cured. Some are obnoxiously hard to cure, and ...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
I never really opened the Emerald doors on that stairway, preferring to save my keys for other things. However, I did use the stairway quite a lot, as I opened the gold door in the Temple, and then that allowed a straight shot down to the Council from the Guilds. Oh, and Quellar, I got Gothmog, Lor ...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
It was the Aquantana area in the Sewers, where all the water elementals are generated. I had a bit of a time getting into the actual area, since the elementals are generated so fast. I had to use a max-level dispell or two, and immediately step forwards.

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
I'm not using the new bugfix, but apparently when you put the Gaze of Fate emerald in the purse, it strips it of its special qualities. However, I'm not so sure if I wanted it back anyway, and I very well might just want an emerald more. That curse is so annoying, and even when you just look at it.....

I've been having a max-level stoneskin up at all times, so she can usually only do damage with the poison cloud that goes off when she attacks. Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
Just whacked away at her for another 45 minutes, and she still isn't dead. She must have had a huge boost since 3.0, since it took me far less time then. Also, in 3.0 when she was getting low on health she would try to run away, does she still do this? Also, what is the most effective thing to use o...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
Just wondering, is Vecna still killable in 3.5? I have been slugging away at her for hours with the Caliburn and the Leviathan, and I am not getting anywhere. However, the fight is almost self-perpetuating, as I can simply regen enough mana to cast the healing potions and stamina potions going. Shou...

When you fail the trial, you are in a small room o doom. There will be a set of 4 demons with tentacles, and if you rush them and kill them, then you can be adjacent to the wall. If then you turn right and kill the flames there, and move into their spot, there is a fake wall to your left. When you g...

Actually, the pit there drops you into the Crypt. You can't get into Inferno through there. However, it is useful for other things. For instance, simply being able to say that you got away with it. Perhaps the ruster egg means rust, as that is all that they seem to drop.
Is this puzzle meant to be solvable in this version?
