Re: Is there a champion team cannon or head cannon of yours?
Huh, weird. Which version are you playing? RTC? The damage numbers there are a bit off in that they're kind of high - I get one-shot by Beholders there quite a lot so I switched to CSBWin which is the same Atari version I used to play anyway :D. I'm pretty sure I don't get one-shot by things like ra...

Re: My CSB journey.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the endless worm flood is triggered by an action taken elsewhere, an action you've previously mentioned doing and which I was trying to remember where the worm flood was triggered :D. The action in question was... picking up Dragon Fang ...if you're curious ...

Re: Is there a champion team cannon or head cannon of yours?
Wuuf is cool because he's a cute doggy but also 'cause he starts with a flask, which is handy. I haven't found him particularly squishy - I believe Tiggy is the physically weakest of all the characters but I don't think I've ever used her. But any of them can be great for all roles if you level them...

Re: Is there a champion team cannon or head cannon of yours?
Yeah I like the more monstery-looking guys as well just 'cause they look more interesting. It's been a while now since I bothered taking a full team of four through the dungeon - these days I tend to go with the duo of (reincarnated) Hissssa and Wuuf .

I've never bothered using them myself so I've never taken note of how many there are or where they can be found. I just remember that Boris starts with one in his inventory.

Re: My CSB journey.
Sounds like you're doing good. Yeah, the Dragons in the "Dragon Maze" are pretty weak - usually one or two Mon Fireballs is enough to finish them off. If you get stuck at any point feel free to ask - we can give hints or suggestions without spoiling things too heavily. But it sounds like y...

Re: My CSB journey.
Woo cool...sounds like you achieved a bunch of stuff. But from the sounds of it you never actually finished the original DM, and you were so close! Maybe you should go back and do that some day :D. Keep us updated on your CSB stuff (the command to auto-buff your party and cast fireballs or whatever ...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
I spent ages killing Thorn Demons (which we called "rhinos" at the time), and later farming axes to be able to buy as much cool stuff as I wanted from the merchants. I did finish the game eventually but arsing around with the early stuff I generally found mroe fun than slogging through the...

Re: What's an recommended playing order through DM and custom dungeons?
Hi, welcome to the forum :). As Saumun says, RTC was built from scratch so it's not a "true" experience of the original gams - some of the mechanics are different and things such as certain types of spell damage are kind of off, meaning certain parts are way harder than they should be. I r...

Re: DM Creatures as Miniatures via Hero Forge
Oh wow those are super cool :D. Instantly recognisable! I suppose you are limited to the humanoid-shaped ones, which is a bit of a shame. I did once make a few monsters in Spore (uploaded some crappy videos of them to YouTube via the in-game video-uploading thingy) like ten years ago or whenever tha...

Re: Heyoh everyone, first post as a long time lurker
Heya, welcome to the forum, young bab ;). It is nice that new people are still discovering the games even now. For the closest-to-the-original version of DM/CSB you probably want CSBWin, which is a port of the actual original Atari version. RTS isn't bad but some aspects are a bit off, like damage n...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
Oh, DM is more like "tutorial mode" compared to CSB, that's true. DM2 was indeed fairly easy...but at least DM and CSB never had those incredibly annoying Minions that kept spawning and coming after you ;). I suggest trying out the original DM, at least - it's easy enough to start with. Th...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
Ah cool, yeah it was years ago that I had a poke around on there. Maybe I'll have another look some time. Not likely to ever get anything made, though - it's pretty expensive and they're based over in the US so there would be a load of shipping costs on top of that :P. You could try making the chara...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
I had a mess around on it once to see if I could make one of my DnD characters (that's kind of what it's for, they will produce the mini for you and send it to you - expensive though, especially plus shipping :P) but they only really had the more "standard" races - humans, elves, tieflings...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
Ohh yeah it was just a bunch of fancy shields, wasn't it, not actual armour sets, yeah maybe that's what I was remembering :D. In my playthroughs of DM in recent years I've just had everyone (well, both characters since I only play with two these days) carry a flask in their off-hand so I can conjur...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
Ahh yeah, it's been long enough since I last played that I had forgotten specific mechanics like that. I should replay it some day - I only ever finished it once. I still have the original disk, I'm sure I could get it running in DOSBox if I wanted. And yeah, I skimmed over your Ra-Sar armour at fir...

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
Woo, cool. I don't know the DM2 (or CSB) heroes off by heart like I do the DM1 ones, but I do recognise some of the gear there - Fire armour, Tech armour/shield, a couple of Blue Steeles...hmm, Ra-Sar armour on the third person down. And I'm guessing that's an undeployed Minion on the floor at Torha...

I can't be arsed to kill them, since you don't need to in order to get anything. I only kill the two guarding the Inquisitor because they're, you know, guarding the Inquisitor and I want it . The others I just completely ignore, I don't even see them - I just grab the Firestaff and make my way out.

Re: Favourite and least favourite level?
If you're talking about the stone golem dudes I only bother killing the ones blocking the route to Inquisitor because there isn't really any way to get around them, so I just make good use of the doors along that corridor to deal with them. I don't even think I see any of the others.

Heya, cool, welcome to the forum and to the game . Will you be taking your party through into CSB when you're done with DM? If you do, good luck, and don't feel bad if you repeatedly get lost and die a lot because we've all been there .

DM is also far more linear, so you have to visit every level in order (barring that one backtrack) even if you don't stay there very long .
