Re: Hi from Dash!

Hi :). As Gambit says, this isn't the DM you're looking for. A lot of people seem to make this mistake, even though I'm sure it says it somewhere on the main page that we're not about DnD. That said, I'm one of the people who do play...though if you've only been playing for the past year or so then ...

Re: High There! ;)

Well, I identify as both aromantic and asexual so the "having a spouse/child" thing is highly unlikely to happen :P. Anyway, if the person you're with isn't into the same things as you then sure, you should allow time for the two of you to do stuff together as well as engaging in your own hobbies se...

Re: High There! ;)

Eh, age has nothing to do with interest in games - I'm in my thirties and have no interest in stopping >:). Games are not "bad for you". In fact, depending on the game, they can be quite the opposite - teamwork, hand-eye co-ordination, problem solving, maths, spelling/grammar, creativity, communitat...

Re: High There! ;)

"Take over everyone"? No. No PvP. As I have said - I don't play to "beat" other players. I do not team up with other people to "beat" other players. I may team up with one person to have fun building stuff or to defeat enemies controlled by an AI. Not every game is about kicking the crap out of othe...

Re: High There! ;)

I mean...not always? Not all games necessarily are ones that can be "won" or "lost" - tabletop RPGs, for example. You don't really "win" DnD, you just play it and have fun and maybe your character achieves some of whatever they set out to achieve (even if that's something as basic/obvious as "surviv...

Re: High There! ;)

I mean, it probably depends on what you're playing or who you're playing with...some people will just complain about other people no matter what. But there is an aspect of fun that can be had when playing with other people that you just can't get playing alone. Yes, of course, playing single player ...

Re: High There! ;)

As I say - play co-op and such things will not be an issue, because you're ganging up with your friends against an AI, which probably isn't going to start gloating if it beats you, nor care if you do such when you beat it ;). I play games where you group up with other players against AI enemies so e...

Re: High There! ;)

Yeah, a lot of games (mainly ones by the big companies) seem to put too much effort on the graphics to the detriment of everything else. Also, a lot of games have too much hand-holding these days. Just drop me in the world with some crappy starting gear after I'm done creating my character - I'll do...

Hmm, punching trees in order to get the materials to make a pickaxe and stuff...I'm guessing you are familiar with Minecraft? Okay, it's by no means the only game like that these days, but it's probably the most well-known. And there's a bunch of other games like Ark: Survival Evolved, where the sur...

Heya, welcome to the forum :). Sadly it's pretty quiet in here these days but some of us are still around. I also used to play on an Atari ST, with loads of games including, of course, DM and CSB. It made up a decent-sized chunk of my childhood and now I have an emulator that lets me play any of tho...

Cool, yeah, that was my favourite of the three in the series that I played (even though they hadn't invented Arcomage yet ;)). I think lightning works because it has a physical component to the damage, which is something that works against Knights and Stone Giants.

Nope, sorry, never heard of it. But I've never owned a SNES and never played Dungeon Master Nexus (not even sure what it is...presumably some other version of DM?), so that might have something to do with it ;).

Re: Mixed up text for the last two days

I noticed yesterday (or maybe the day before) that the text at the bottom of the screen (where it normally shows who's online and all that) was a messed-up bunch of Internet-code-looking text. It seemed to sort itself out when I changed pages a couple of times, though. But now you mention it, Saumun...

Yeah, haven't played Pathfinder myself...played a lot of DnD 4th Edition, though. But as Sophia says, this isn't specifically a DnD forum (though some of us are up for chatting about it ;)). It's a forum originally dedicated to an entirely unrelated game called Dungeon Master which came out back in ...

I like the Might and Magic games too...well, the ones I've played (VI-VIII). VI was my favourite, good fun, big game, loads of stuff to do...and a variety of little bugs to exploit to become super OP >:). Also enjoy the Elder Scrolls series, favouring Morrowind above all (again, it's huge, it has lo...

Cool, heya...fellow DragonLance reader, or a coincidence? ;) Welcome to the forum! Note that the RTC version of DM is a clone version made from scratch so isn't quite the same as the Atari version...best version to play for that is probably CSBWin. But the RTC editor is fairly straightforward to use...

Re: In CSBWin what do "DM Rules" do?

As far as I can remember there are only a couple of parts of the game affected by this - as I understand it, CSBWin was a port of CSB first (hence the name), and was then modified slightly to work with DM too. From what I remember, when rezzing a dead party member in CSB their max health is permanen...

Re: Loot Boxes

Bahh, finding the Firestaff isn't a guaranteed free win since you'd still have to trap Chaos with it. You should make it that people paying the maximum tier of money go straight to the victory screen on clicking the button to open the dungeon doors at the start!
