I am willing and able to provide the DM2-PC CD stats, if anyone is interested. Made for MS-DOS. I have the files copied from the CD, ready for use.

Re: Do the spell runes names have any meaning?

In real life, the word "VI" is French for "water" or "life". It seems appropriate in it's usage in creating healing potions to me.

Just a fun fact I had to share.

Re: Dungeon Master copy protection highlighted on a popular Youtube Channel

Hope I'm not off topic here, but FTL didn't put any protection on DM2 whatsoever. Guess they figured that it didn't need it?

You all have a good evening now.

Re: Change Keybinds in DM2

Numpad 1 and 3: Strafe
Numpad 4 and 6: Turn
Numpad 5: Forward
Numpad 2: Backward

There is no way to rebind these. However, you could try to use something along the lines of JoyToKey to allow those keys to be emulated on a joystick.

Sorry that I can't be of any real help.

Re: can a character cast spells without speaking?

Ok, I just remembered the manual was on dmweb.free.fr and looked it up. I also remembered that when you enter in a series of runes that are NOT a spell and try to cast, it says "So and so mumbles a meaningless spell", so that should be an indication that the spells are spoken. In theory t...

Re: Question regarding preference

I prefer the old way. Even if it's slower by three or four frames. My father would prefer if the game paused while you selected the attack, something that I wish would happen too, but that's the way it is in real life (plus, it would be really complicated to program something like that). No extra ti...

A puzzle-ish based nanodungeon.

I have finally created a dungeon on my own! It is my adaptation of the game "Shine" by the user Adventure Islands. https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/630327 I take no credit for the game idea, nor do I claim that my dungeon is original in any way. I do request, however, that you don't ...

At the risk of going off topic, I noticed that Lightning Bolt was effective against tiger striped worms, but they are never encountered in Dungeon Master, at least not in the original.

a push spell at him and knock him off the clouds. I have seen plenty of this above; however, there is a problem with the theory. Dragoth is far too heavy (with a weight value of 254) to let himself get moved around on his own turf by a MON Push spell, let alone off it to his doom. You might as well...

I apologize for the unwarranted comment coming up, but I couldn't avoid speaking out when I saw the subject. Steam has two games that I enjoy on it: Starfleet Command, and Eternal Senia. Starfleet Command's normal price tag is around eleven dollars. Eternal Senia is free to play. Just thought that I...

If video game one-liners are allowable then mine would be:
"Have I lied to you? I mean, in this room?" - GLaDOS, Portal.
"PK... Starstorm!" - Ness and Lucas, Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Hoping it's eligible,
Jay.

Must have been the copy guard. They were extremely strict with that, as you now know.
Speaking of copy guard, perhaps the runes read, "This dungeon is copyrighted to FTL."

Trying to think outside the box,

It's not the act of taking the Power Gem that closes the entrance, but stepping on a specific square whilst carrying the completed Firestaff...I think it's the space by the door that leads out of the small room containing the Power Gem, but I read somewhere that (in at least one version/clone of th...

Unless I recall incorrectly, the way out closes as soon as you snatch the Powergem and try to leave. That and the actuator doesn't work with the weapon (The Firestaff+), only (The Firestaff).
