I can't find the skeleton key on the corbamite level. If it was on the ground, then I probably wouldn't see it. They are easily missed.

Got in the habit of checking my party after any combat when damage has been taken. Also, saving often to multiple save slots. Just in case.

Yes, some keys are very hard to see, especially in the heat of battle or trying to find a correct route through invisible teleporters.

Finally finished Dark Reign 1. Had a job finding an emerald key not far from the end and nearly lost a party member at the end. So retreated and healed and played more carefully until I sussed the right way of doing it.
