Re: Help with buying a new laptop
That sounds about right. I guess everyone has to decide what they really need, what they want on top of that and what is optional and then decide by that which system suits them best. If Windows gets even more on my nerves, I myself will probably migrate to Linux but I'm not there yet.

Re: Help with buying a new laptop
With your expertise I suppose you already looked into Linux too. Depends on what you want and need of course, but modern Linux systems have become quite user friendly and their RAM usage is still way below Windows systems. I know that Blender specifically can almost double your render speed with hal...

Made my day, where can I subscribe to pre-order the early access version? That will be half finished, never updated, full price as is usual these days, of course. I'd be offended if it wasn't.

Re: How to close the Pit at the DIABOLICAL DEMON DIRECTOR?
There is one thing to consider: judging from the optics it's definitely a remake, not a port. So it MAY be that this particular riddle is not properly implemented. If that is the case, you can try all you want to no avail of course...

Re: Help with buying a new laptop
Hi Gambit, I'm from Germany so I'm not sure about available keyboard layouts, and we don't use cams, so I'm not sure about those either, but my lady did some Blender and bought a laptop that met those requirements at least (been a few years, so not sure about the prices nowadays either, with the cra...

Re: I'm done with big main-stream games
I never bothered about getting into that upgrade war in the first place. Started gaming (well: again, after my Atari ST days) with the GameCube when it was already clear that it won't be the current one for much longer - and I got a PS2 when PS3 was almost making way for PS4... :D Started PC gaming ...

Re: Restricted runes
i think it depends on what the modder intends. If it fits the rest of the game's concept that you go in restricted, that's fine by me. Though maybe there should be an option to get the runes otherwise, both for those that can't be bothered looking for them and for those that give up. Maybe put a sec...

Been years since I played it and I don't remember anymore how or why I got to the right solution myself (no internet back then for me). But it took me long enough to stay in memory even after all the time.

Re: [RTC] Dungeon Master 2 THE DARKNESS EX
I vaguely remember a situation from the original one where the clan piece always moves to the table side opposite to you. There was a merchant ghost involved too, but not sure if you only saw him after finding the solution. If it is like that one

Apparently I'm the first to answer... First things first: Both images look absolutely awesome. :) For the rest, let me state that I'm not as much of a DM enthusiast as many others here: I've played it originally on a friend's Amiga in the mid-nineties and maybe a couple of times on RTC and maybe DSB...

I don't think it's for "too dumb players". Because a) the succession of the runes is always shown on the side, b) by the time a player reaches master they should be pretty familiar with the runes and c) they trusted us to figure out most of the spells on our own too.

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share
Haha yeah same for me. :D I loved the outsides (and outer caves) of DM2, spent hours levelling my ninja skills shooting through that grate door in the bat cave. I hated most of the castle itself and never managed the final boss because I couldn't be arsed to open that gate and get over the bloody cl...

Latest development on the "not secure" front: After the last update, Firefox seems to have decided that this site isn't safe for me to visit anymore. :P So the "remember me" won't work anymore and though I get asked if I want to save the access data via Firefox, I can't use those...

Just nudging in here a bit, but that one sparked my interest: Anyway, beyond the technical problems, to me the main gameplay issue with an immobile chest is that it's basically moving inventory interaction to the main view, which creates some UX problems because that is not where it usually happens....

Re: [RTC] Tower of Champions HINTS & HELP *SPOILERS*
I don't know if that causes the issue, but ToC is packed to the very amount of what RTC can take with items, mechanics and stuff. So maybe you hoarded too much, though I think Adamski put in guards against that...

Tower of Champions, Underworld Dreams (both by Adamski);
The Trail by Saumun;
and Conflux by Zyx (though not RTC, that one).
I think those are the "must play"s. Though The Trail is the only one of them I actually find manageable.

Well, your skeleton has changed too and got standing ovations, so it's not solely about the changes. ;) By the way, the corridor suddenly looks way cooler with the Screamers hanging everywhere, so if you want to go for a dimension-warping, I'd actually recommend that very floor and ceiling design.
