long walls

I think that the ability to draw one long wall and have the engine chop it up is great. After all I make all my images in this way anyway so that all the shading macthes up. Could that be possible? After all then if it flipped the source image and then chopped it it would still all match up as it sh...

I'm not sure exactly what you would need this for Gambit.. You are talking about a simulated bump map. Something that is just starting to show up in the new 3d engines.. However they have a wider range of angles .. I can't really see why you would need that in a DM clone. It's far easier to just dra...

This would be one of those .. should it be fixed things.. Would it be unrealstic for a monster to walk into the smoke? Should Creatures not join forces when the option presents itself? If so.. why? Realize that some issues with DM revolve around the limits placed on the team for the Apple IIe .. Thi...

Should it be fixed is the question

I would like to point out that part of what RTC represents is the ability to improve DM. There are a few things that one should consider. 1. running into a thrown obj. Can you do this? In real life that is. A fireball sure.. could be it travels real slow when you release it but that's magic. however...

DM 3D

I would first like to point out that it's not really my clone. It's george's clone I'm just doing graphics for it. 3D would not destroy the feel of DM at all. However one must recognize where the differences between quake and DM *REALLY* lay. The most important does not lay with the engine .. not ex...

Dragons a very weak against poison. Poison cloud and poison ball will kill a dragon faster than anything else. One Mon Poison cloud killed a dragon in CSB, at least from my memory. Spell knowledge

well, a different possibility is to gain knowledge of Runes. A starting wizard or preist would know all the power runes but maybe not any of the active spell runes. I would require your finding the symbols on parchment or walls etc. It could add annother level to game play in that you may need to se...

UPDATE!!

Hi there everyone, I've updated the webpage and started once again from scratch on the walls. I need to make a major change on the side walls still (the stones are still too close together) but I have lightened the dungeon graphics to match more closely the DM ones. You'll notice the wall objects li...

darkness and other things.

The darkness .. hmm I could lighten it up a bit more. I'm trying to make it a more realistic lighting. I suppose however that I could lighten the images more and still retain that. One big detail with the mirrors and other wall objects is that they are lightened by the code and not ahead of time. Th...

don't worry

I didn't take any offence man. I know how easy it is for a project to become vapourware. It's hard for independant projects to stay afloat and I admire Alandale's commitment to DMJAVA so far. As a sort of update the game now has the intro, some dungeons, an ending and annother ending I just mad is a...

dm java !

DM JAVA was not a practical joke the game is mostly complete. It will be completed soon. I take some responsibility for it's lateness since I was asked to help make the ending and intro. I'm nearly done the ending and the intro is complete.

So hopefully DM JAVA will be out very soon.

DM cheat fraud

The first that you speak of was an April Fool's joke, and there's information on the main part of this site about it.
Really? I wonder how it lasted so long as a rumour if it's a fake? I never tried but I heard several people say it did work but only with a certain version.
oh well..

Re: Spell descriptions and FUL bombs

Actually, it would not be unlimited.
For the same reason the Ven potions were un-popular. They destroy the flask. There is limited numbers of these as you all well know.
So it wouldn't really unbalance the game at all.

Clone project should still happen

No, no, not at all! It shouldn't be dead. The modified RTC that I used is the engine that George has already 'given' to the clone project. It's freely downloadable from the resources page on the Clone website. Why should you give up on the graphics? I wasn't treading on anybone's toes in showing my ...
