Re: Friend's kid needs votes for his monster
This creature is called Chemicrow. It is a mutant creature that evoled from a crow - because of stuff like the oil spills and all the chemicals that go into our air - these are the types of birds we will be seeing in the future if we don't take care of the planet. Chemicrow lives in mostly in Canad...

Re: Need a new PC, but not sure of best option
Could be a resonance effect. So instead of hunting a imperfect mechanical insulation you could try changing the idle rpm of your fan slightly. Not nice, but should work.

Re: Need a new PC, but not sure of best option
2 pictures: You likely won't notice much of a difference between these 2 setups. Or at least none that can be measured with the on-board devices. 2 fans in a row: generally this won't increase the mass flow, at best the possible pressure gain will increase. In a casual setup, you won't see any tempe...

Re: Animal rights and sexuality discussion (no connection)
Finally had some time to continue this and ended up with a lenghty thing noone would read. It's a sad thing in general these kind of discussions leave behind the points of common agreement. So I started to compress it and kicked out most of the research done on human evolution. As usual I'm using my...

Re: Animal rights and sexuality discussion (no connection)
Sorry. I'm awully busy right now. (very much enjoyed reading your post, zoom!) Still had a little time to do some basic research concentrating on the sudden change that happened between habilis and ergaster some 2 million years ago. (In just about 300k years the most significant increase of the brai...

Re: Animal rights and sexuality discussion (no connection)
I'm slowly starting to enjoy this, because we are now reaching realms of the more interesting and more seldomly discussed points. (although we are leaving the more obvious and more understandable "they are our brothers - you shalt not kill") If we were all used to killing to eat, perhaps w...

Re: Animal rights and sexuality discussion (no connection)
*sigh* Sorry, long post ahead. I can't compress my thoughts the way you do. I do think it is worth a read, though. Calm down. Relax. Enjoy yourself. [Sophia pointing to the laws of nature] there is some misunderstanding at this point. The organised industrial massmurder of non-humans certainly would...

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Thank you for your work, Gambit. We all have tender spots. I'm feeling a little better now. I've been a real mess the last few weeks... Most of the time I'm preparing for that 30th of April. I've lost a good friend a few days ago, because I've beaten him up in a state of frenzy. (yes, because of an ...

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
I'm not sure if those debates are really enjoyable. Sometimes they indeed are, but they also leave me finding no sleep all too often. The energy source for this post was anger. And anger usually produces the opposite effect of what you want to achieve. I hope we can chat someday or even have a threa...

Right now the lack of time prevents to answer properly. (And my fingers are itching, I can tell...) I hope we can chat someday or even have a thread on the forum about that pedestal mankind puts itself on top of for no apparent reason and the general concept of our specism. For now, I link a video o...

What you could try out next time you're gathering for a game on the big screen, is watching some B-movie trailers.
Just 3 minutes and really good for a laugh!

Re: Warlords (1989) with a data projector
Hehe, sounds like great fun!
Vividly I remember those Oil Imperium sessions after school.
We played it on an old oscilloscope with a thiny b/w screen, having terrible (not drug induced ) headaches afterwards.
Oh happy times.

Strange somewhat, I've played BG I+II with great passion, it wore off in Ice Wind Dale / NWN I+II and then (even though the graphics/animations are soooo much better) didn't even get back into it with DA / Drakkensang. The chit-chat among the party members was new and fun, but not enough to keep me ...

Hm... item names are stored in "graphics.dat" if I recall correctly.
So maybe this file from the french version of DM could be loaded in ADGE, making the item names visible.

I'm taking a good deal of energy from the support I receive on this board. Thank you for this. I would love to keep it up till the very end of this ordeal. However, I do not at all like the overall direction this thread has been heading right from the start. My fault probably. I feel sad about it an...

So, yesterday has been the big day. According to our lawyer it should have taken less than a hour for the judge to decide in such a clear case. It took 4, and there will be at least 2 other dates. Next will be 30.04. So as you can guess, it didn't work out very well. They had a -very- good lawyer (h...

First date at the court. He didn't show up, only his lawyer. Brought a sick note with him. (Yeah, sure. In exactly one week we will stand trial in an attempt to get rid of one of our neighbours, forcing him to leave the house after he had been terrorizing us for more than 4 years. The last months I've been collecting "coffin nails" to make our success more likely to happen. Doesn't feel exac...

HTC Touch Pro 2 It can do all the things you asked for (and more). You can grab it used on ebay cheapo. Windows mobile (6.1 and 6.5) does have the same glitches you know so well from Windows pre98. It will take about a week to set that thing up properly. Until then it suffers from memory overflow, ...
