Re: in spaaaaaace!! there's science
This article about curved mirror is BS. Not impressed by maths, 101 physics lecture , optics for dummies. Nothing new about wide angle, a questionable US patent. Facts: I happened to drive a car with such a curved side mirror. Never again. Much unsafe because "Objects in mirror are closer than ...

Re: Playing DM with CSB Win,
Thanks, now I see where is the second spot. I think I had used it the first time I played DM. it is on the way to the Darc outfit where you enter a maze from the room with a locked cell with a knight inside These spots monsters can't pass are implemented with teleporters where monsters only are push...

Re: Playing DM with CSB Win,
Ameena, I use the spot you mention to fight the knights ( animated armors ). There is a wall, one can open as a short cut, once open, I think that spot is not safe anymore. Then, there is a risk to have spiders and knights come at you in your back while you fight at the spot where knights can't pass...

The difficulty of chaos strikes back is explained in the ( 1989 ) original manual. CSB Manual: http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=node/423 Introduction Page 13: To prepare for your quest, you should have progressed far enough in Dugeon Master that you are confident in your abilities. Be carefull, for your cham...

Re: difficulty of chaos strikes back
I did it, CSB on ATARI ST. Not using any help. Mapping is difficult at the beginning. A lot of map pieces. Once the pieces begin to fit together, the game becomes easier. One needs to investigate every wall to spot hidden rooms, checking for fake wall and using the spell to see through walls to know...

Re: The List: Best RPG
I liked Beyond Divinity. I could not play Divinity II, my PC is not powerful enough. Because of this thread, I just had a new go at Dungeon Siege. The Box "Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna" has 3 CD. it installs TWO games. 1_Dungeon Siege. You start from a farm. Later you buy a mule to help...

I did not continue my bit about savegames, here, because I realized I was going off topic.
Sure I am interested about thoughts about saving strategies.
Please point to me the most appropriate thread. I did few searches but got confused.

Re: Early Inquisitor and a few other questions
That was RTC where I boosted my two fighters with strengh potions and my two wizards with wisdom potions. It was easy to keep them over 170. Fighters were hitting damn hard with inquisitors and so did wizards with vorpals. I do not know about this in other versions. I recall using strenght potion in...

Re: Early Inquisitor and a few other questions
Indeed, armors and shields are disappointing. I prefer all leather clothing rather than Lythe and Darc stuff which is too heavy. Recently, I played with caracters boosted with strenght potions, then heavy armors are no burden any more. I think DM is not tuned right about armors and shield protection...

Do not save, it is too late.Last question: is there any way to load game after 1 member dies ?
The only thing you can do is reloading a game you had saved before 1 member died.
Quit.
Restart.
Resume.

Re: Help: Parallel port - FTL sound adapter [SOLVED!]
Nice work. I am impressed, you sure know how to use a soldering iron. Using a 1K/2K ladder versus the original 100K/200K looks wrong to me. This is too much load on the DB25 outputs, the D/A convertion will be not so good. Presumably, the DB25 outputs are TTL, a too high impedance for driving a 1K/2...

Re: Early Inquisitor and a few other questions
Inquisitor is my favorite.
I wonder about weapon damage with highly boosted fighters under strenght potions.
When over 200 strengh, they hit so hard, I do not see much difference from the various swords.
