Re: CSBwin custom keys

If you look down the config.txt file you will see that the qweasd keys are being used for other things. Perhaps you need to remove those other things; most easily by putting a semi-colon in column one. If that fails, get back to me again and I promise to provide a config.txt that is tested and worki...

Re: CSBwin custom keys

I can't say I understand exactly what you mean by changing the settings in the dir You need to edit the config.txt file that resides in the same directory as your CSBwin.exe. If you are having trouble doing that then get back to me and I can help. Possible problems: 1) don't know how to use text edi...

Of course. You are right. And that explains why there are two
teleporters at each exit from the Chaos Area in Dungeon Master.

Re: Linux 64-bit binary and build issues

I finally got around to trying this. I downloaded CSBwin_SRC_20190702.7z, unzipped it, compiled it on my 64-bit Ubuntu machine using the 'makefile' contained in the zip archive, and placed it in a Dungeon Master folder with a 'config.linux'. It worked just fine. It also worked without the 'config.li...

Re: Lord Chaos inside Fulya pit

I would be interested to know exactly how this happened. He could not have 'walked' into the pit area because of the teleporter at (24,39). I seem to remember that he can 'jump' over a single cell and thereby pass through a wall that is one cell thick. You will notice that the Chaos area in Dungeon ...

A leisurely 3 hour reincarnate walkthrough I watched on YouTube with two lousiest champions "You" and "I" went to certain parts of Ros first, for example (downstairs, the mummy room by the torch, etc.). But this essentially requires intimate knowledge of how the junctions work I...

Re: Some observations from a DM returnee

If I understand correctly, the monster attacking condition is satisfied (at least) when the monster is in the next square and is "chasing you" in order to attack You certainly may be correct. But if I had to guess, I would say that the bonus to experience depends on a monster having actua...

Re: Some observations from a DM returnee

A few other observations on this training: after done with punching the black flame, once finished with training I had to kill it about 10 times with vorpal blades, it immediately resurrected. I wonder what that was all about. It sounds as if several 'regenerates' were queued. When a regenerate is ...

Re: Linux 64-bit binary and build issues

After converting the characters with the self-compiled binary I can now successfully play with the 2018-04-21 published binary. But I suppose going forward it would be nice to have this sorted out. I'm glad you found a way to play. But you are certainly correct. It would be nice to sort this out. L...

You appear to be right. We read four characters from the file but process only three of them. Hmmmm....can't get everything right the first time. Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

Paul can explain the actuator better than I can. Ouch! In DM or CSB these things are relatively simple. But in Conflux? Nothing is 'normal' in Conflux. For starters, that generator shares its location with !two! DSAs. They are named "fading generator" and "monsgen sound A'. The latte...
