Re: [DSB] SNES PORT v1.3
Yes, I know - that's why I'm asking Qwerty whether he would allow me to have a look at the dungeon.lua, I'd be interested in a couple of differences between Amiga-DM and Nitendo-DM.

Re: [DSB] SNES PORT v1.3
I wonder why the file is named RTC - was this an RTC dungeon first?

Where do I get V1.4? The download link above still says V1.3
I would like to have a look at the dungeon.lua with ESB. Can you upload it somewhere, please?

Re: DM & CSB in DSB fix thread
Currently I'm testing DSB V0.52 with "CSB add magic map". Does anyone know: Is CSB+MM - aside from the map - identical with the LATEST version of standard DSB-CSB? EDIT1: ESB crashes when opening "CSB add magic map" dungeon.lua The torch holder in the starting room at 4,27,23 can...

Re: DSB Version 0.52
Ah, that explains it. I suggest changing the XP multiplier to 0,5 My experience from various RPG games is, that no multiplier should ever become 0. EDIT: Also, the Teleporter that substitutes the character import from original CSB should reset food & water. I mean, as an experienced player I sur...

Re: DSB Version 0.52
Something is still not right with the XP calculation for low level spells. Example: CSB, I reincarnate Buzzzz and Petal. If I try long enough, Buzzzzz will eventually succeed at shooting a Lo-fireball at a group of mummies and after 2 or 3 hits gain a wizard level. But no matter how many light spell...

Oh wow! But it's 2:33 AM now here, it'll have to wait ... Thanks for the quick release! EDIT: What's already on your to-do-list for V0.53? EDIT2: Will you include a debugged DM1 and/or CSB (with magic map) default dungeon in the next release? EDIT3: Since for my favourite CSB party I have to choose ...

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
I hope we'll see some animation in some future DSB release. Meanwhile, back to playtesting: If in DSB a door has a fire resistance of 60, does that mean I need to produce a single fireball that does 60 damage (impossible with reincarnated characters for quite a while), or can I shoot a series of Lo-...

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
Well, since XMedia allows to change file formats as well as codecs, the interesting question is - should Sophia at some point decide to implement some video support, what format and codec would be easiest to support?

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
I'm not exactly a media file format expert. Do different *.ogg files maybe use different codecs? Well, of course you are right that no one actually would hold a quiver - cooler would be a quiver with more item slots. Since I've just seen the DM2-like money box in the test dungeon I assume a bigger q...

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
Well, adding in a few finishing text lines along with a Grey Lord appearance and after that couple of bitmaps taken from the movie will certainly do for now. Right, *.avi was used by Nexus, but that's not exactly a clone. In the test dungeon the firestaff transformation does work properly, so probab...

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
No movies so far? In that case I suggest implementing support for some format that has been used by other clone engines too, saves converting issues. Don't know anymore, I think *.ogg and/or *.mov had been used so far? Of course *.avi would also make sense, since converting *.smk to *.avi onbviously...

Re: DM & CSB in DSB fix thread
Currently (DSB V.051) the firestaff-amalgam isn't working. After using the ZoKathRa first and the clicking the firestaff on the powergem, both the firestaff and the powergem just disappear. I found an old hotfix-workaround: http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=28586&p=110...

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
Right, seems that a few of my less weird suggestions made it on your to-do-list, so I'm very curious about the next release. Sophia: "I do like the idea of diminishing returns from potions when you start boosting stats very high. I'll add something like that." Well, I'm not sure whether I ...

Re: Big List of DSB Feature Requests
Staff of Manar: I think it was in some old thread about hidden properties of items in DM1 and DM2. The staff of Manar can't have been from DM2, since there is no Staff of Manar in DM2. And it's not from RTC, because this information went into RTC, but with a different mechanism - George gave all man...

Right, the fixes you've already announced sound good. Re: Features for DSB
Probably you are right about the engine and the drawing of the graphics, but still I found it worth a thought. Re: Features for DSB
I'm absolutely for including DM&CSB in the default package. I'd even be for including a couple of additional custom dungeons in the default package, but DM+CSB first and foremost. I know that some wishes probably won't be fulfilled, some have been sugggested by me before and have been discussed ...

Big List of DSB Feature Requests
- Right, since I didn't have internet for a few days but still proceeded in DSB, I'm making a new post consisting of bug reports, impressions, questions an suggestions. - Some of them might not concern the DSB engine itself but rather the DM dungeon, still it'd be nice if DSB as a DM clone would hav...

Re: Features for DSB
Very well. I just noticed at first that stamina did drain pretty fast, and next I noticed that I didn't have the surplus food I was used to being a quick player knowing the standard DM dungeon very well, so something just didn't seem to fit. Glad to hear, that code checking confirms my vague impress...

Re: Features for DSB
Well, it's been time to start something new jobwise anyway.
Does DSB allow a tilewise XP-multiplier? So a dungeon desinger can declare something like "south is safe, but the north is a pretty dangerous region"?

Re: Features for DSB
RTC - I assumed you'd know because if there was such a thing as an XP-multiplier by area in RTC, a dungeon designer would know, and you did design some dungeons. XP-multipliers: Mainly coming from P&P-games - whatever the engine does, the important thing is that no multiplier ever gets "0&q...

Re: Features for DSB
Right, I guess my impression was mainly because I played more RTC than CSBWin, and RTC levelled quicker, probably due to taking damage inflicted differently into account than CSBWin. To make sure I'm not judging DSB solely based on some RTC memory, I just installed the old MS-DOS DM1 and found the f...

I just repeated the experience: I casted once more several LoFul spells. EDIT: I just threw some more missiles on a door in level 2, and final...
