Fixed for V0.49 This bug is sufficiently bad (it effects all imported characters) that I'll release the next version very shortly. If anyone has spotted any other bugs, please say so now so I can fix them before the release! Interestingly when it starts in this weird mode, not only can my char can w...

This is now fixed for V0.49 (the problem was that RTC only recognised alcoves if they were the first item on the tile).

Re: Edotor crashes while quitting it

What does that mean? Not sure! It looks as if the one of the new sound files in your dungeon doesn't contain any data, but if that were the case, I'd expect there to be an error when loading the txt file (as well as quitting the editor). Can you send me the files you're using so I can try and repro...

I can't reproduce this problem, are you sure it's a real issue not some kind of optical (auditory!) illusion? Have a look at the DM-II dungeon - that has triggers that change the music as the party moves from one area to another. If there's still an issue, then can you send me a example file and I'l...

I can't reproduce this - as Gambit said, there was a bug similar to this in one of the beta versions, but I fixed it for the release.

Can you let me know *exactly* what to do to cause the bug?

It's not triggering because there's not an object type for your new item to convert to (specifically, when examining an object you don't want it to convert to nothing - i.e. vanish - so this special case deliberately does not work).

Set your object to convert to itself and it should work as you want.

As beowuuf says, RTC is behaving as designed - what you want is DM-II style being able to use items in both hands (an existing suggestion).

I don't think that there are any hidden properties for food, but yes, as a matter of course I would recommend cloning an item from something that is roughly similar to what you want. If nothing else, it's quicker for you as there'll be less changes to make! Try editing your text file directly to swa...

The mechanics to do all of the above already exist. Have a look at the CONVERT_CONSUME and CONVERT_EXAMINE properties of standard objects. They're activated when an item is clicked on the mouth / eye respectively. You should be able to use these to do what you want, but if you need anything else, le...

As I mentioned before, your savegame is fine (it was just the code that loaded it which was wrong) so simply copy it over to the V0.48 install and you can keep playing your existing game.

Re: RTC and screen resolutions higher than 640x480.

1) Why does RTC offer the use of higher resolutions through the config file when it doesn't actually support them? The resolution setting in the config file is purely setting the video card resolution - not the resolution of the game itself. It's there because when I first wrote RTC, video cards di...

I understand your point of view, however the term "FATAL" implies that it is about to die. In practice, when RTC finds such a problem it tries to limp on for as long as possible. I think this is the right thing to do as it allows people to test even if there's an error (specifically to fin...

But is it ONLY based on the Strength value? I thought it was more complex than that? No idea what DM does, but in RTC in-game it's alot more complex (various multipliers based on items carried (e.g. Elven Boots), %age stamina, location of any injuries etc). Having said that, from the point of view ...
