Incredible work ! Blodwyn
I have even loaded it (partially) in my engine (nice, I will get more material to play with)

Re: I designed minifigs of my champions and I'd like to share

That's really nice job and a fresh looking take on the champions ! the smartphone for the magic map. :) Exactly what I thought! :D The magic map is an early concept of smartphone combined with GPS tracker and drone control application  I like the colors and their stance. Torham is in your team...

Legend of Beholder

Long ago I posted this image: http://dmbuilder.sphenxmusics.fr/skeob/images/SKEOB_Screenshot01.png This was a partial conversion of EOB to DM2 engine. I have recently taken some of this work back to build another package that gives EOB wallsets to DM2: http://dmbuilder.sphenxmusics.fr/skeob/images/L...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

I approve VirtualMidiSynth as I use it ! However, ogg handling is added (not replacing), and switchable to allow either midi (which anyway comes from converted HMP) or "custom" musics which I used as a way to have Amiga music instead of PC-DOS music. It was the easier way to do it, as thes...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

About the different exe (such as SKWin.Release_EN_JP.exe, SKWin.Release_JP_JP.exe, SKWin.Extended.Super.exe, etc ...) I am working on it a way to have the differences selectable from options. Hence, the EN/JP versions can be choosen by language and graphics.dat version selector. The extended mode ca...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

Weird for skwin.exe I didn't check it for a while, it appears to be a problem with the ini where framex and framey are -32000. Just set 0 and it should be fine (I've generated the zip again). About my issue with skull, it appears to be related with my dev env XP + MSVC9 which allegro 5 does not like...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

Well that's not bad. I started with 4.00, compiled it with MSVC 2008 Express and was able to produce a working release exe. Had more trouble with the debug version, maybe because I was compiling from an XP VM (I need VM to get some clean MSVC compilation environment). I also tried back to compile fo...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

Thanks for the codes Bit; I will check that quickly :) I was already able to unify some static defines between skwin code and yours. I used MSVC 2008 Express and compiled successfully (I talk about the older one , not 3.93 nor 4.00 yet) but somehow allegro was not initializing its display as expecte...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

Great you're here! I've managed to compile it with an old MSVC -- I'm not too keen to download GBs of IDE for compiling our works that every couple years something seems obsolete and doesn't work .. anyway that would be great if you could point me to your latest DM2 code because I had mixed results ...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

Some update about this, things do not progress very fast, but I am in the process to clean up stuff I have so far to get a more consistent release. Currently I am working on Bit's version to provide skwindos exe along (then PC-DOS version along the PC-9821). I have a pseudo-assembly code that works ...

Re: Where are the Gigglers?

I do not know what this default action is intended to prevent. CSBuild can override it and so far I have seen no ill effects of doing so. Having worked on an engine compatible with DM/CSB, timers/triggers give me a hard time where double activation of the same trigger can lead to an uncontrollable ...

Re: Where are the Gigglers?

Thank you, I understand, I thought it was something about the original code. The teleporter does the same in the Amiga version. About the tools ... I remembered some interview screenshot with the map editor http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=node/890 http://dmweb.free.fr/files/Magazine_Power.Play_GE_April.1988...

Re: Where are the Gigglers?

Paul, what do you mean by "The source code ignores items at many locations" ? About the possible location of the teleporter, if it is a mistake -- the destination is in relative coordinates, meaning it is targeting (7, 09, 25) -- on the basement (level 9) it would then target a plain wall....

It was always a pity you couldn't pick all your characters but were stuck with Torham in the first slot :P. I thought we had provided a Torham-free version long ago. Anyway, here is one where you start with no champion (Torham is still selectable) : http://dmbuilder.sphenxmusics.fr/files/dm2/DUNGEO...

Re: Convert character from DM PC Dos to any version of Chaos strikes back..

Hi, have you tried using CSBWin for that ? I don't know if CSBWin does the conversion itself, or maybe one must first convert it from CSBuild (map editor for CSBWin) then use CSBWin.

Re: A little teaser...

I like this artwork and color tones. Maybe that thing about enhancing (modifying?) the original is to find a good balance whether it is still DM or not. The DM floor is iconic, if you change it, IMO it does not feel DM anymore. I personally see the Screamers more like mushrooms than small trees. The...

Still progressing on global engine by testing other crawler. Lol. I have been working on converting savegames to DCS. I don't have a full CD image of that one, I got most of the files from your site .. so I guess I got that one directly from SKWin. You may try to reach Kentaro about that. As far as I know, the differences are that 4.0d (internally dated 1994-08-09) contains a few texts in english (mainly for interf...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

The regression is certainly due to the removal of the control; the program would then detect what is the target platform of the graphics.dat to tell how it would decode further elements. The thing is that I currently don't know on which elements the PC-9801 demo must be detected since apparently it ...

Re: DM2 for Windows: skwin / skwinspx / skproject status

Hi Christophe, I managed to get a working environment to compile DM2GDED (shortly, new VM + all required updates + MSVC 2019, so that I don't destroy further my current work environment.) I built a quick update where I removed the control at gdat loading step : DM2GDED rev11 beta . That way the PC-9...
