I got blasted a couple or three times, and it always insta-killed, but I can't vouch for my party's toughness at the time.

Now that you mention it, that was one of the fortunate limitations of DM: weak monsters could block stronger ones, but then we get back into the "passing rights" idea, where certain monsters don't like to share tiles. I'm not suggesting you treat a mixed group as a single unit. What I'm su...

Hey guys. I think I'm done with KoL for now. I'm just bored with it. I'll drop everything I can into the stash, and if anyone wants my account, I'll change the password and give it to you. I beat the sorceress and don't feel like starting over, as things have gotten too repetitive for me. It's not l...

MiniLauncher plug

This is pretty much spam, since I'm advertising my own software, but as a long-standing member of the forum I'm hoping the community will grant me some tribunal privilege . . . also considering this is the first programming endeavor I've accomplished since that color-space converter. One of my frien...

An extra 1,000 wouldn't hurt. That's the cost of MSG, and I'm sure Zyx could use the cash. If we all take a hit every day, it'll pay for itself in 50 days. I'm not sure I'll even be playing that long, but since I did put the last 35,000 in the stash specifically to bring us up to 200K, you might as ...

The detail settings defaults pretty low on my system, and admittedly the game looked like crap, possibly even worse than Far Cry. Game play was pretty fun, though it'll take some getting used to the crippling energy limit. For giggles, I jacked the detail settings all the way up to see how it should...

I bumped into someone not long ago, couple months I guess, and in an act of inebriated courage I kissed her on the neck, and the next thing I know, she's interested in me. I wasn't really interested in her; we were dancing, and I got caught up in the moment. Naturally I didn't want to tell her I was...

The number-one reason I don't approach women — and I believe this is completely legit — is because right now I don't have the resources to date, as it were. Granted, when I was with my last love, we spent very little money and enjoyed most of our time just being together, which is how I wish all wom...

By the way, if any of you picked up some long pork at the ruins, I can turn that into lasagna. It's not particularly easy to come by. Frankly, I can make better lasagna more easily, but I've got 22 black peppers waiting to be used, and the only thing you can cook it with is long pork.

Too much is random to give me any incentive to replay or not cheat. If the game required more deductive logic inasmuch as what you can and can't do --- e.g., why can you make a wine spritzer but not gin-and-tonic? why not a whiskey high-ball? what does rat sausage stir fry require that you start wit...

The mushroom thing, and anything you get from ascension really, is also dependent on your sign, which means exactly two-thirds of the game will be unavailable to any given character, and that rather annoys me, too. As far as I'm concerned, this game has zero replay value when starting from scratch, ...

It depends on where you go, but that sounds about right. The designers made it exceptionally difficult to farm anything in this game, choosing to rely instead on a large helping of randomness, which is what turned me off in the first place, and yet here I am. Components can be bought at various poin...

By the way, if anyone needs elemental resistance for a particularly tough fight (*cough* Lord Spookyraven *cough*), I'd be willing to loan you my battered hubcap shield. I never take my own food out of the stash, except for a few burritos that you guys had started. (I drop in more now and then to make up for it.) If something is particularly hard to make and I had to really work for the ingredients, I'll keep it for myself. In general, food doesn't cost all that muc...

Hey, don't forget the power of noodles and MSG! If you see anything tagged lasagna, lo mein, hi mein, chow mein, or wonton . . . dig in. (Actually, I'm keeping the sausage wonton for myself. I'm keeping a running total of the number of orcs/hippies I kill. I have one more wave to go, which I will finish tomorrow. Then we'll see if all my hard number-crunching has paid off. Duct tape can't be traded, but I only found one anyway. If you complete the farm as an orc, you get special lager, which you can then mix with whiskey to make boilermakers. I dropped a couple into the stash for you guys. Should be able to make more in the future.

Did you do the orchard quest as a hippie or orc? If you do it as an orc, you basically get access to unlimited alcohol, except tequila (which is always in demand, by the looks of it). Oh, and they sell herbs! I'm prepping some more hearty dishes, when I get a few ingredients.

Yes, but the low-level adventures don't give you any stats. I'd be more interested in hunting in, say, the pyramid or Palindome than Fernswarthy's tower.

I drew quite a few cocktails out of the stash to stock some adventures for the war. If you find anymore herbs, spices, secret blends, or ancient spice, chuck 'em my way and I'll kick 'em up a notch. The rest of the ingredients are on me (since I have to conjure noodles and buy the MSG anyway), but I...
