Re: [DSB] Unintended Heroism

Thanks to the hints in this thread, I completed this wonderful dungeon! I especially loved all the Mophus jokes of course. :-D
Hopefully I will find some more time to write an adequate review. Just wanted to say thanks for a very innovative and funny dungeon! I greatly enjoyed this.

Re: [DSB] Unintended Heroism

I passed the arena, took the right Ra door and fought my way through lots od ghosts and other incorporeal monsters down there. Materializers and Zytazes are annoying, but manageable with fire shields. I haven't had that many problems so far.

Re: [DSB] Unintended Heroism

The game continues to amaze me. I now found a little room behind an imaginary wall in level 4 I think with some Ven bombs in it, and when I examine the bombs, the game crashes. Nothing serious though, they work when thrown. It's a really funny and creative dungeon so far, I love it! :D The serum of ...

Re: [DSB] Unintended Heroism

I just downloaded this and started playing, and after one week of Grimrock, I needed about 3 minutes to realize that DM is still the king of dungeon crawlers. I just finished the first level and really like what I see so far. I really enjoy the humor, the music choices (I wonder if my Doom Blade dun...

If I am not mistaken, this hasn't been quoted yet. It is from the DSB tutorial:

Re: Legend of Grimrock

I'm two years late to the party, but now I finally played Grimrock, and I have to say WOW! The graphics are really awesome, and I was quite impressed that the game runs reasonably smooth on my 6 year-old laptop with medium details. However, I had to turn down the graphics in order to open the iron d...

You were correct about the giggler. If you use
Spoiler
Oh Ew Ra (look through walls), you will see that behind one of the levers, there is a giggler.
That lever is the only one you need to pull in that room, the others all generate monsters.

Re: Doom Blade - Hint Book

The spell to lift the curse is just a bonus, you don't need it to finish the game. Yeah, you could argue that it doesn't make much sense in the same place I guess. Could you elaborate about the thief ? I'm not quite sure what you mean. Definitely keep the Blade and the Dagger of Aram . Both are key ...

Re: Doom Blade - Hint Book

The alcove with the bones was just there to demonstrate that Aram's Blade is full of evil. ;) If you have found the tombs of Itza and Tula, you should have found two items that have sentimental value for their family. Examine everything carefully. You need those items; look for a RA door near the st...

Re: Doom Blade - Hint Book

Sorry for the late reply.
Spoiler
From the room with the 4 wooden doors, take the north one. There is an area with moving walls here. Watch the floor for tiny pressure pads and keep going back and forth. Eventually, you will find a passage to the north with the door that needs the two Keys of B.

Re: Champions you have never used

Look no further than Surgical Strike or Doom Blade if you are looking for custom dungeons that poke fun at Mophus. And I have an idea about a dungeon with him as a central character. gerganrab: I think you can import your champions in any dungeon in RTC. Long ago, there was a project about an overhe...

Re: [RTC] Parallel Universe

I now finished level 6 and am slowly exploring level 8. Loving it so far! In level 6, I only found one Vorpal Blade, and the puzzle with the two plates and the pit took me forever to figure out. I couldn't get to the end of the fireball corridor. Tried luring some beholders to eat up the fireballs, ...

Re: Champions you have never used

I was just joking about Mophus. ;) Read through the two quote of the week threads to find some of the stuff that made hating Mophus a running gag. I know at least two custom dungeons (Surgical Strike and Doom Blade) that have some weird Mophus stuff in it. And yes, fighting Deth Knights and Golems w...

Heh, your avatar is my default avatar on basically any place on the web Ameena! I really love it. :)

I had quite a busy year, with lots of good and bad things happening. Glad to see all of you still around, and there are definitely a few custom dungeons I should check out.

This is the first time I played DM for about 2 years, and I have to say: great stuff so far Paul! I really love the concept and enjoy the execution tremendously so far. Re: Champions you have never used

People liking Mophus? What has the world come to? Over the years, I think i used every single champion, though many only got picked because i usually never take them. Boris remains my favourite, but Wuuf, Chani and Stamm are definitely up there as the most useful ones. My classic party was Boris, Ti...

Re: Doom Blade - Hint Book

Thanks for the kind words, but I don't really deserve them - Doom Blade is my only custom dungeon released. I do remember playing Dru Tan's Storehouse myself and quite liking it. About Doom Blade: in retrospect, the dungeon has some nice ideas, but it is way too large and ambitious for its own good....

A Palmapple can be found behind the Tower of Fastilus. 3. A Moonflower can be found in the north of the F...

Congratulations on getting the first Corbum! :) As Ameena said, it doesn't matter from where you enter the DDD. You will always enter it from the very same stairway, no matter which path you took to get there. The Ku exit was the easiest to find in it, so be prepared to spend some time in it to find...

Cheers! It's great to read that you have a lot of fun with the game. You are making good progress. Many people have a bit of trouble with the worms, as they are the first semi-dangerous enemies you encounter, but it seems you are doing very fine indeed. Yes, very good progress there Lord Soth! You have indeed achieved a lot in a short amount of time. Keep playing, you actually don't have that far to go! As for CSBWin vs. RTC: CSBWin should be a bit easier, mostly for the spellcasting monsters. But also, monster groups can assemble and disassemble i...

Re: DM - Amiga Playthrough.

Ameena has it right. Keep using flasks instead of shields for your off-hand. There is a fountain at the very end of level 2, and now that the chambers are complete, the way through level 3 is rather short. If I recall correctly, the next fountain you will find is on level 5 . The interval of mana re...

Mophus The Healer ... So a human, a dwarf, a psychotic pervert and a halfling, not a bad mix! Fixed that for you.
