Re: list of weapons and armor

I am sorry, but I cannot do that. Here is what I know of the various attacks that can take place. As you see, the information is all here but not decoded. I hoped that some clever person with a lot of time on their hands could figure it out. I think the Encyclopaedia lists the possible attacks for e...

Re: list of weapons and armor

Well, my friend, a list certainly exists. The Dungeon Master/CSB Enclyclopaedia has lists of all these items. CSB for Windows will produce a list of all the items if you select "ASCII DUMP". The Ascii dump will include all the information that exists. Unfortunately, it has not been fully d...

Re: Is it possible to transport Charecters from the PC DM ve

I did not attempt to make this possible and I am told by someone who tried that it is not possible. The characters are relatively simple data structures. The source code is available for my version. If you can figure out the format of the PC DM save files, perhaps you could write a function to locat...

Re: why no start??

I thought I answered this yesterday. But I don't see my answer here so I will try again. You collect you characters in the prison. Save the game as CSBGAME.DAT Restart the game and select UTILITY Make New Adventure and overwrite existing game Restart the game and select DUNGEON and Resume and CSBGAM...

Re: One Character

Ah! If you want a bit more difficulty, perhaps you should try it with two (or more) characters but only one of them is allowed to cast spells or swing a sword or wear armor or carry anything. Any others are simply taking a guided tour. As you say, a single character is not too much of a problem. But...

Re: chaos problem

Can you provide more information, please? What platform are you playing CSB on? Are you using an emulator? ( If so..Which one? Which CSB disk?) Are you using the CSB for Windows? What do mean by "Create the Utility disk"? The Utility disk was created by FTL. We only use it. What are you tr...

Cursed Weapons and Luck

As you may know, I am creating a Windows version of CSB. I have discovered that there is a skill called Luck in addition to the Strength, Dexterity, etc. (I think it is Luck...the Rabbit's foot adds 10). When you wear a Cursed item, the Luck is decremented by three. Unfortunately, the minimum starts...

Re: CSB Windows version 0.8

The edit feature is not supposed to work. I did not translate it. Lubor Kolar is worj\king on it, however. As for the Corbum, you should ask Antti Kantee <pooka@iki.fi> He is the one who finished the game. He did not mention any problem with Corbum except that the game crashes at the very end when t...

Re: CSB Windows version 0.8

The "feature" of having to use the first save when using the Hint Oracle is being worked on by Lubor Kolar, I believe. If he is not doing it, someone else will. I know he was fixing the Utility so that it, too, could use games other than the first. The original Atari game had only one save...

Version 0.8x

Just to keep you informed. I am very busy. I am turning the program literaly inside-out so that it will run as a proper Windows program. It will be driven by Windows messages, the executable size will be *VERY* much smaller, it will only use CPU when needed (the current version uses 100 percent all ...

Re: CSB Windows version 0.8

Thank you for the bug report. There have been a couple
of bugs with weight. I never found this one. And one fellow
played through to the end. Evidently he never used a magic
box and neither had I,

Thanks again, and keep me informed.

Re: I am amazed...

Actually, it can be speeded up quite a bit. Just to see what is possible, check out the version UAF.sourceforge.net/pstevens CSBrel.zip It is a release version with about a day's worth of thought put into making it faster. It is playable on my laptop pentium slowed to about 35 MHz. The release versi...

Re: can game be played with larger screen

Go get CSBexe.zip from

uaf.sourceforge.net/pstevens

The Misc Menu has a "Double Size" option.

P.S. You promise to report bugs? Please? That is the
only way they are going to be eliminated.

Re: silent forum :)

The Inline assembler is quite necessary to make it run on my old 166MHz pentium. And it is confined to an extremely small piece of video code. If you dislike Inline Assembly, I can ship you the Atari Machine Code to translate instead. That is what I had. ;-) ;-) ;-) I have done my part, IMHO. Now it...

RE: mystery passage

I think you mean level 5. The door is at 05(19,03). The ASCII dump function of the Windows version of CSB confirms that no switches have this door as a target. If it can be opened, it must be opened with an "Open Door" spell. Unfortunately, the dump does not say whether this will work. I w...

Re: Help

I don't think there is any "Complete Solution". No two games are exactly the same. Have you read the walkthrough available from the dmweb.free.fr? It is very good in my opinion. I have completed the game twice but did not understand what was taking place. If you get the Windows version of ...
