You could try winning CSB without taking any damage, very hard though. Never been able to do it myself, has anybody else tried this?

I think all monsters have a rear and front end even rockpiles and water elementals, because if you are facing one and it is attacking you, then you run behind it it and start attacking it, it takes quite awhile for it to start attacking again, like it is turning around, or it will move away. I am no...

Its the same for all monsters, not just scorpions, you can continually chase them from behind attacking them with weapons untill you throw an object, throw a spell, or if you chase them into a deadend or a hallway where they can can only move foward or backwards, they usually turn and face you.

I must have been 6 or 7 when i first watched my brother play CSB on our amiga 500. I think I used to just load my brothers save games when he wasn't home and run around madly trying exploring the dungeon and get hopelessly lost. Eventually I got the hang of it and was able to start my own games but ...

I thought this aswell, but you need luck with the thieves aswell as luck with the items. The shooter starts with a chest full of food, then the boots of speed, then a compass etc. I think they are fired when the thieves walk on those teleports, and there is a one in eight chance of the right telepor...

I just realised while playing there is a second way to get the Ruby key without using that Onyx key or picking up and putting down the vorpal blade. If you blast your way through the Iron grate in the first room with the flying fireballs, teleports and rives, then do the "prove you are a wizard...

Well, the fastest time I have gotten is 10 minutes and 37 seconds, with only one mess up because of a Demon near the end, and a few very minor things. So if EVERYTHING is perfect under 10 minutes might be possible but since there is only a 1 in 8 chance of the boots of speed appearing each time, i'm...

No, but the weight does still have an effect. The order of speeds when overloaded with or without the boots is something like : Grey Boots Yellow Boots Grey No boots Red Boots/Yellow No boots (they are the same speed) Super Red Boots Red No Boots Super red No Boots I think thats the order...but ther...

I see now, thanks. I am definetly moving faster than 6 moves per seconds, that is easily done by just holding down the turn key, but instead of the game not being able to be played back, the timer just speeds itself up to match the rate at which you are moving, so when you play back, it look slower ...

Hmmm, you must be right, but i still think the timer is uneven sometimes. CSB under 10 minutes is definetly still on the cards though, i was able to get to the DDD with all three keys in about 5 minutes 10 seconds but then i fell down a pit :(, and i can bypass the first blackflame at Dain, which sa...

Question about Time

How come if you are standing the spot doing nothing, the ingame timer increases at about 2 sixths of a second, but when you hold down a turning key and continuously spin, the timer starts going by about 8 sixths of a second for the same time interval. I made two games of CSB that were almost identic...

Made a record of 16 and a half minutes without the boots of speed and full of mistakes, so it should easily be possible with the boots. I used ressurected Plague, but even with training i couldnt get him anywhere near as powerful as Rain's plague. How did you get him to be an Expert wizard? And have...

I remember this trap, but if you have 1 or 2 characters you can just dodge the fireballs then walk at a leisurely pace. Or go get the boots ;)

Monsters do seem to 'freeze' sometimes, not very often, but it has happened to me many times. They unfreeze after a while, but do nothing for long enough to get quite a few free hits in.

You have to kill an animated armour on level 12 and flying eyes on level 10 aswell. BTW, i made a mistake with CSB, you need 15 items. I might play through a game to get an exact plan and see how hard it would be to do this. I think things like the worms at the end of level 03 and the munchers later...
