Re: Super Dungeon Master: Quest for the Firestaff
Lol - that's fine: trying to remember, but I think I added in 6 new characters due to people on the boards (misskarna's foursome, a tg fairy and a troll -as it is my avatar...) however, in the game, there are 4 more story-driven ones too. Would add that the stem version has some balancing fixes: yo ...

Re: Super Dungeon Master: Quest for the Firestaff
Why thankyou Sera! You have just made my day, ;). As an update: found out quite a few things about SteamWorks: firstly, took me like 3 days, including artwork, to bang in and test 32 Achievements. Really simple. In addition to the 'app' you also get a free DEMO slot to fill as well AND two further s...

Re: 30th anniversary!
Happy Birthday to Dungeon Master... :) Got this on the Atari ST (aka, the 'proper' version  ) on launch: it was out before Christmas 1987... man, the albums I was listening too when I first played this... they did not all stand the test of time, and yet Dungeon Master did. Happy birthday - and...

Re: Worst Company in America
You worked for EA? I don't know whether to be impressed or furious with you! If I hear that you designed the Dungeon Keeper app I will hunt you down  Oh I wish... EA had many many studios... it would buy and absorb others. So I was in EA mobile, which in itself was mainly an old mobile-phone ...

The 'Massive-Spoiler Parlour Game': succinctly summarise the stories
Hi, first off, SPOILER warning, ;). I am curious - having revisited Dungeon Master I had to re-think of it in terms of goals and objectives. From this I created a 20-point list of game-goals: hit all of them and you win the game. Choose your Champions. Welcome: learn the basics of combat, navigation...

Re: Worst Company in America
Ah happy days... my life in the mobile biz: Apple? Oh the irony: while working for EA Mobile back in 2007, we were working on game-ports to Nokia mobile, being subsidised by Nokia, millions of dollars into EA. Now RIM and Blackberry were kicking butt throughout the noughties. But in 2007, several in...

Re: Super Dungeon Master: Quest for the Firestaff
Like a sore tooth, there was one last thing I did want to investigate... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DJ2r9PYW0AA_nmK.jpg:large making things is fun, but finding out about online services has been interesting - in its own way too. So trying something different - if it does happen (big 'if'), it'd wou...

Re: Custom dungeons from DMDC2
I might have DMDC2, but I have absolutely no creative talent... Bah rubbish, everyone is creative: art is the ultimate goal of the human endeavour! (winkyface) DMDC2 - well that's a new editor on me, having played with RTC and DSB: this one, what, manipulates the original DM2.dat file? If I'm hones...

Re: Most frightning firstperson that you've played
Silent Hill 1 (if you beat it once, you get the option to play in first-person mode, so surely I'm allowed this...) ...and then I'd be sitting there with smoke coming into my room and scary flames outside the door and stuff. ...so would also recommend to avoid Silent Hill 2, Ameena, where you get to...

Galaxy Invader 1000 is spot-on :) - and thanks for the video, (the bleepy music it plays brought back memories!) man, we settled for really slow screen updates back then ;). mining... blobs, elves and wizards.. in a sort-of Dig-Dug universe... looks like a fun mash-up of ideas... but sadly cannot gu...

Apologies Sphenx - did not wish to imply seriously that you cheated and would note how consistently good at spotting games posted here you have been, so I do apologise. I should be more conventional, so a Korean multi-player party-game probably not on your list either, (It was incredibly fun btw)

It was the game where you could play many different people, provided you died: Primarily a Dreamcast game, made by the guys who later went on to make Farenheit and Heavy Rain. But I never played those, just this very odd game.

Wow - it looked great... amazing. Puts my effort to shame as this looks to follow the DM mechanics much more rigorously.
Interesting to see your corridors being 2 tiles wide, which must have made blocking enemies and pads a bit more demanding to put in.

Basil brush did have a girlfriend called Roxy, apparently: so maybe a better fit.
Daroou as Bungle was Saumun's suggestion, though Chewbacca is a great idea - so keep them coming in, happy to update the gallery.

Re: What if the DM characters were cartoon characters?
Well, except Tiggy - that one looks nothing like her. But the rest are good :D. Well, I grant you that Tiggy Tamal is a bit of an odd one: but hear me out - her clothes just reminded me of some sort of female glam-rockstar, so that's my defence, :). Have filled out a few of these myself, but any of...

Re: overhead DM
...is a game ever finished? :) well, the version I do have did re-write some of the puzzles to fit the design: visibility was something I considred too, but it is a different style of game and the extra visibility only helps players solve puzzles. insofar as my effort being 'complete': all 14 levels...
