Re: Guess the game

I was unable to find a screen shot of the first game that was large enough, so I posted the second.. but it's called valhalla and the lord of infinity Yours appears to be a doom or quake remake.. the bump mapping and the texture detail is higher than it should be, but the interface and monster style...

Re: Guess the game

I've been fascinated by some of the posts in here being completely missed, given that for me they were such epic games. Saumun posted shinobi and beneath a steel sky but they mostly went unrecognized at first. Sophia posted Super Metroid which I would have assumed EVERYONE knew.. It's interesting to...

Re: Guess the game

The character has a UK accent and says things like "I've got it".. and "I'm scared". As well, he identifies various things "It's a withered rose", which I suspect is a result of them looking at the art they have done which is pure top down rather than isometric and many...

Same company, as it's the same style of art.. that makes it Renegade ! I played the demo of this game from an Amiga Format magazine many times over, having never gotten my hands on the actual game.. but it's always stuck with me in terms of the animation and depth of that demo.. http://s.emuparadise...

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider

yes, I could tell you liked that one from your post in the guess the game thread :D I played that for months before realizing I had a main quest I was supposed to be doing... which I never finished.. That series has always offered the ability to explore anywhere, but not until oblivion did it have a...

Saumun, Psygnosis was one of my favorite companies. you posted a game of theirs I think no one guessed :) Also, CS Elvira series had that great cook book idea with the red transparent...

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider

Well.. I suppose to be fair to the team.. she did spend the time becoming that killing machine in that first reboot. Though I know entirely what you mean.. for me the first one bothered me with it's deaths scenes. They were a little too graphic for me.. and while I suppose it gave greater incentive ...

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider

I had the choice of this or Uncharted 4 for my birthday.. based on your review Gambit, I went with uncharted even though, really it's because of uncharted that Tomb Raider has taken on much of it's more brawl heavy element.. though I do enjoy the upgrade element added into the game and will probably...

Yeah, they spend 2 years learning how to do it all.. and spend a lot of time making these shots.. it's painstaking at times, but pretty cool when you get to see your vision completed..

Re: Shadow of the Beast Remake on PS4

yeah, typical.. for some reason everyone seems to think they have to have gouts of blood, bits of brain matter, entrails, and squelchy noises to make a game awesome.. bonus points if you close up on the disgusting bits like chainsaws through the face.. FML..

Re: Dungeon Master Keys (scratch build)

What a fun project.. I've debated revisiting my plan to do some DM related sculpture to give to the clone makers as thanks for their contributions.. however my first run at it lead to heads popping off and the sculpture being partly shattered.. so I need to figure out a way to keep it secure for tra...

It seems my loving wife wasn't entirely forthcoming with the information. looks as though my *mornings* are open today and tomorrow.. not sure about any other time beyond that. I'm taking the mornings to get some work done and could chat along with that activity..

This jetlag is killing me.. adjusting to a 9 hour difference has been several days running.. we've been here a week. Though it's been fairly crazy here too.. visiting everyone Sandie hasn't seen in 4+ years. I have time off tomorrow and the day after, anyone fancy a chat?

related to this. This game's pixel art is pretty cool.. it's interesting to see how well some newer methods of doing glows and atmospherics seem to fit well over top of it..

Re: [Greenlight] The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians

Gambit, I'm aware that ONE environment set looks similar to Grimrocks ONE level.. The unfortunate truth of our world is that we have diminishing returns on original looks, especially when many are using the same core engines (and even then other engines render the same) as well as working form the s...
