Re: Check In When You Feel Like It

Weather and what's happening where you live! It's chilly. No snow. Probably won't see any for another 10 years or so. Odd thing...I read some of the comments on this thread... ...and was even pleased to see you guys show up who don't see any real need for the thread. I guess it never ceases to amaz...

On Czech "highways", you cannot drive more than 60 km/h even in summer. Great commentary on 'progress' in your area. When, WHEN, you come to visit me  , you'll notice people drive over 100 km/h as they pass in front of my house. I sometimes call the road in front of my h...

TOMi mentioned fearing the picture of egrets. (Well, he didn't say it 'quite' that way, but I got the gist. I've never tried to pet one. They don't look all that intimidating in the fields. Seeing the Great Blue Heron in flight always catches my attention. They sure seem to struggle to get al...

I didn't care for the tennis shoes the latest Dr. Who wore.
My son told me they had replaced him.
Did they also retire his tennis shoes? :?

Good theard. I think I will check this every time I visit. It's a calm winter day here. Not very cold, Minus 17 degrees only. Calm and ONLY minus 17 degrees. That's not very cold? YIPES! I've thought it was cold here, where it hasn't dipped below freezing yet. :P Confused bunch of forumers we seem ...

Worked until 11:35 p.m. on New Years Day. Quiet. People must have been busy with family.
We did have a couple of younger ladies come into the truck stop area,
seeking some 'crack' and offering party favors in return.
No takers. They finally went on their way down the road.

Re: Conservapedia

I've just decided not to talk about politics and similar things here, at least for some time. It could turn into an argument or even a row, and I don't want this, because this forum is, as we agreed, a very peaceful and polite place. :) Similar things? We have a college Football team in Baton Rouge...

Baton Rouge, Louisiana is approximately 80 miles east of us. I believe it has 120,000 population.

200,000? Big? Hmmm. I live in what is considered a 'cove' that runs along a short county/parish highway. Three miles to the south of us, there is a city of about 25,000 or so. The 'cove' houses about 200 people or so. Yeah, it's metropolitan in nature, but I've learned to drive in it. :D 8) :twisted...

Rain! Sweet, sweet glorious rain now I'm back in Basingstoke. I love snow, don't get me wrong, but I don't like the icy unwalkable rubbish left behind that no-one grits the pavements against. Was painful the last few days in Basingstoke, just as bad in Aberdeen, and I was grinning coming back to ra...

Check In When You Feel Like It

I just thought a thread to 'check in' from time to time, might fit this section. The weather has calmed a bit here in Louisiana. I was almost uncomfortable with a jacket on at my night job. I just go off (3:30 a.m. Central Standard Time...U.S.A.). I was pleased to hear the news ZYX gave us, concerni...

The soup would surely need some serious vegetables and meat in it.

Perhaps some of that Willie Wonka 'special' gum?
Er, only if he somehow fixed the 'dessert' problem.

Rasmus: Thanks for the information on the hypothetico-deductive method. It looks like a name for what a lot of people do in the first place. What was the reason for so many being on at the same time?
