Re: DM2 in WinUAE
Ah yes, I had this problem also, except i had -900 megabytes or close to, so I woked around this by creating a harddrive that was 1000 megabytes, this gave me a 100+ harddrive to work with. Seems stupid but I could not figure outanother way around it so I ended up having a gigabyte sized harddrive f...

Re: [RTC] Tower of Champions HINTS & HELP *SPOILERS*
Hmm that's odd, I could have sworn the dragon run away from me, that was the only way I could trap him in his own fireballs. Anyway, I'm currently stuck. I can't figure out how to get past the door next to the tech eye that says "I will not let you pass" in the mages guild. I have the ZO r...

Re: DM2 in WinUAE
I had DM2 working on WinUAE once, it was a painful experience to get it wokring as I remember and I could never get it running smoothly but part of that could have been the slow computer I was using at the time. I had to use two different version of WinUAE, one to install and one to play, that was w...

Re: [RTC] Tower of Champions HINTS & HELP *SPOILERS*
Cheers, I'm doing much better but still crawling around the dungeon with broken feet, legs and hands. Haven't gotten into the priest guild yet but haven't really tried. I've got the Vi rune now, so if I could get the spellbook and a flask I'd be away but I'll try the priest guild for now. I didn't r...

Re: [RTC] Tower of Champions HINTS & HELP *SPOILERS*
Just playing playing this dungeon, things were going ok but I accidently saved with an injury which slows me down. Is it possible to heal wounds anywhere at all near the beggining? Or better to restart? I got injured at the warriors guild in the arena, which I've since finished. Also, I can't find a...

Re: RTC Config
Ah it was numlock, don't think I've had to use it before. Thanks for the help. Finally managed to get out of that first room in TOC. Loved the sound from the old game Gods when you make the hammer.
Oh and using a destop not a laptop.

RTC Config
Hi Guys Sorry if this has been brought up before, in fact I'm sure I've had this problem myself before... So, finally got round to deciding to play TOC for the first time, so I went and downloaded RTC, I'm using a new computer which didn't have RTC already on it. Anyway, got into the game and realis...

Re: [RTC] Tower of Champions
Hi guys, any estimated time when the new version will be out? I've been checking the site every so often since early December and there always seems to be a new version coming but never one available for download! Looking foward to playing this dungeon though, haven't played anything DM-ish in a whi...

Re: Minimum Picking
I probably saved the game between 10 and 20 times maybe. As for restoring, probably over 100 times but that was due to the extremely slim chance of a worm moving to the correct tile at 00,20,44 which activates the teleporter at 00,33,42. I just had to try over and over until it appeared and demons w...

Re: Minimum Picking
Wow, if Plague looked anything like that I probably would have kept her alive, foot injury and all! But the reason I killed her is that I accidentally saved without realizing her feet were injured and slowing me down, which would have made getting the corbums impossible because I had no flask to hea...

Re: Minimum Picking
I resurrected them but didn't train them, but they could've done with some more training as they only just survived to the end. I felt a bit sorry for Plague, but I'm sure he understood his sacrifice and Petal was mere seconds from the end when she succumbed to starvation. Yes I had forgotten how sa...

Re: Minimum Picking
I've slashed the record by 171 items down to 8! Four keys and four corbums, although one of the keys is the Winged Key. I'm pretty sure that is the absolute minimum, unless PaulH or Paul Stevens has any more tricks. The end of this was very, very painful to record.... I'll mail it to Paul for confir...

Re: 'Toe to Toe' with the dragon
Cool, I'll have to watch this! Never thought below 43 was possible either. I made a minimal moves game of CSB ages ago I think, it's not on this computer and I'm not sure how many items I used. It was around the same time I tried to make the, very frustrating, no damage movie. Never did finish that ...

Re: 'Toe to Toe' with the dragon
I never knew you could take those torches, then again, I never actually tried... At first the gigglers plagued me and I had to reload several times, then I just remembered to remove whatever item I was holding in my left hand when I was coming up to some as they seem to steal from that hand only. No...

Re: 'Toe to Toe' with the dragon
Oh whoops, have to + 2 to all the numbers in my post above. I lost count but remembered I was on 42 with just the firestaff to get but I forgot about the scroll and RA key you have to pick up on that level. Those Materializers were incredibly annoying, warcry only seems to affect them for a few seco...

Re: 'Toe to Toe' with the dragon
I just mailed Paul a playfile of my attempt. I finished up with 43 on the count, I believe 42 could be done with a little bit more struggle and possibly 41, but it would be painful. 41 is the minimum you could possibly do I think, I could have taken Linflas instead of Wuuf or Mophus to save on picki...

Re: 'Toe to Toe' with the dragon
Also, behind what I mentioned with Hawk is, that when you select DM Rules at the prison entrance, then enter the prison, DM Rules becomes deselected. This didn't used to happen I think, so you have to select DM Rules once you actually start the game.

Re: 'Toe to Toe' with the dragon
Had a go last night but I'm going to start again. Forgot to put on DM Rules, made a couple of mistakes and will choose different characters. I think I was at 18 or 19 by the worm level. Ended up on the Knights level at about 40 but had no food or water, bad planning by me. You can survive without fo...

Re: What a fun!
It's not only monsters that can be missed by fireballs if they move at the right time, the party can also 'walk through fireballs' this way if you move foward a square at the right time or spin at the right time or move a characters position at the right time. Tricky though, it's probably only a 6th...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
1. I don't remember any particular trick to the tower of pits aside from just getting across without falling. There should just be a key at the top here and that's it. You then have to backtrack to the real trick as I remember. 2. I'm pretty sure you can't open it, you just look through to see the g...

Re: [RTC] Nightkin
Anyone gotten far in this dungeon? It's exceedingly hard, took me a while to get out of the first room but now I think I need to restart as I saved without realizing a pit appeared behind me with a monster on the other side. I like it so far though.

Ah, but in CSBWin's alternate test, you are not supposed to save, if you are recording anyway. I guess you can't really 'repair' them them without being unfaithul to the original game, but they were all bugs by the original designers I guess, like the antifire and the KU/ROS corbum fake pit. To fix ...

Hmmm, good question. I remember thinking this through before when I made those clean out the dungeon recordings without saving years ago. I thought there might have been two points, both by using lockpicks on doors which need keys. The first was in the ROS DDD section at the point where if you use l...

Turrican II will always be my favourite, nothing comes close. Extra ticks makes the game too slow while having it off makes it go too so the actual speed the game is played at is somewhere in the middle. I think this is because the game cannot go faster than 6 moves per second, so once you start going faster than that, which is easy with the boots of speed esp...

That's odd, I had two post this twice... I went melee. Although when I first started playing I used solely magic, so much so that I couldn't kill Deth Knights and Golems in CSB. Now I use melee a lot more, probably because I now play with one character almost all the time and I don't sleep as much a...

Hmmm I don't remember the darkness being permanent, once things goes dark just sleep until they lighten up again. After a while you learn which squares make things go dark, which is all the squares you can enter from such as stairs and below pits. Your probably right about the spell messages, I'll s...

My 2 cents on a couple of those questions now I'm back home. The differing spell messages is a bug I believe. As for weapons, I think using a Mace is best until you find Druafang's weapon or something better, there's a page on the wiki on which I wrote a lot of information about weapons. For the spi...
