Re: Biological Imperative vs. Personal Choice
Eeeek horse story ahead! on-topic! yay! Mares usually don't show signs of 'being interested' toward humans (probably knowing how little we have on offer, in horse terms), even tough a horseman knows about the signs to look for, I've never recognized any signs of my mare going into heat. Female horse...

Re: Population Growth
Keep in mind, English is not my native language and I have to use simple words to make myself clear. It also takes a lot of time to write these things down, but I do think it is time well invested. It's all very simple, yet complicated. So much easier to reach a goal by joining "the dark side o...

Re: Population Growth
Really, we all should take greater care about what we write (and more time to read what others have to say). Don't poke on Adamo so much. ;-) I'm sure he has been in a -really- bad mood and shortly after posting felt sorry. A few posts earlier, someone subliminally suggested we should simply kill un...

Re: I need a new computer! Recommendations?
Can a laptop be switched on all day when plugged into the wall and used as if it were 'desktop' machine -- how does this affect the longevity of the battery (I've heard mixed reports on this)? Li-Ion batteries have their lifetime defined in terms of "recharge-cycles" (around 500-700 these...

Ameena: Nothing wrong with not wanting kids. I'm not sure where my wish to have kids comes from anyway. I can't really distinguish between the "built a house, plant a tree, buy a mercedes, have a son" attitude that is so common especially around the SW of Germany and the more natural, biol...

Re: Baby Screamers
Maybe having kids is a kind of "RESUME", starting over, this time trying to pypass what you did wrong. I wonder about people who seem to be so sure about their wish never to have children. I always felt the urge need to reproduce myself, especially in the presence of women. Hm, maybe thats...

Has anyone checked out sites like http://www.earthday.net/footprint2/flash.html ? It calculates your "footprint" you will leave behind when you are gone. "Footprint" means the number of earths needed if everyone on this planet would live your kind of lifestyle. I'm scoring a lame...
Re: Snow!! :D
Heidenai! It's been snowing the whole night and most of the day. Compared to the rest of Germany (or GB) we still have very little tough. :-/ (maybe 6-7'') Had some nice drifts on the cartways in the wineyards where the snow is still virgin. All the roads are manteled with snow. People can't drive! ...
Re: Snow!! :D
The nordish folks get all the good stuff. And we suffer. Usually it's the other way round. Little more than 3 inches here in the south, but it's of the powdery kind, so add some calm winds and the scenery becomes quite magical. I made a little video while on the walk to the stable. If there wasn't s...

Don't worry too much, Duck! :-) There is only one rule on the inet: NEVER EVER TALK ABOUT POLITICS At your age (15? 16? oh my god...) the only english words I knew were "FIRESTAFF", "EMPTY FLASK" and maybe "DAGGER". So just maybe you're doing quite well. :-) And come to...

Re: Check In When You Feel Like It
(was feeling kinda strange, so please forgive my asking)
How the heck can you keep up such a joyful, everhappy attitude while still facing the oddness of this world?
You must have found a way to prevent it from even entering yours.
What's the trick?

Dammm... seems I'm a little late. What is Farscape anyway? :-) MWs birds scared the shit out of me! Germany is very dense, so there is very little 'wild-life' out there except deer and wild pigs. We had a single bear in bavaria. He was declared a "Problem-Bär" and put down. Oh, brave human...

Re: Advancing technology vs the eternal Nostalgic
hmmm. Interesting. I found that people who aren't that much in contact with modern technology often have amazing easy and obvious answers to these kind of questions. Maybe it is simply not technology and its ongoing development, but people themself. Nostalgia is a way people try to somewhat countera...

yeah, you coders have your fun! And I start to think about slowly going insane. How could that be? The memory of detoxing my party after being through that blob area is so vivid and fresh in my brain. It must have been less than 4-6 weeks since I last played it. I'd have any (!) bet on that. Is it a...

Been in that area recently. Your chars don't get poisoned? They should.
There is no direct damage from the blobs however (maybe thats the "0-result"), but you should see the alternating damage numbers caused by the poison.

Suddenly one of my front guys raises a fighter level, to Mon Master Fighter, but he wasn't fighting, he wasn't even kicking at this point. I'm confused. How could the fighter level raise instead of the ninja level? When a monster hits one of your chars (with a direct physical attack like rats do), ...
Re: Snow!! :D
Snow! Finally. The first few flakes came in early october, but they melted before even reaching the ground. Then ridiculous high temperatures throughout november. It's not much now, but it is settling down. I hope it will be enough to do some innertubing in the vineyards on sunday. Great fun. 2 or 3...

full time job It's mostly the same there anyway: you work hard. Then some manager comes along and proofs it all to be wrong using a POWERPOINT presentation (*). It may well be something you've been working on for years. Now how does that feel. However: you get constantly payed. (*) Yep. It's true. ...
