Look at the center of a screen until the video ends. Then try to read a book or paper!

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

Malificent guild does have it's own ending. Is it only a theory or is that actually possible to finish Conflux with maleficient guild? Ok, stupid question; that`s only for crazy maniacs. I guess even Zyx himself couldn`t make it. And you could surely try to open each guild in turn so you can get th...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

When you take a guild boss, you grant access to the bonus levels: warrior boss gives you access to the special warrior level, priest boss to the priest level etc. So to fully explore conflux you have to play four times (with four guildes)! (maybe the maleficient guild has its own secret level too, b...

Re: Slowdowns while playing DM Java

The CPU is not particulary occupied when I get those slowdowns. Does your machine slows down in other cases too (when running other programs)? I`m note sure what causes them in your case, but I`ve got an Acer laptop and I had huge random lags from time to time on various programs (particularly thos...

hmm.. you can buy special weapon, or one of the characters you meet has it (add him to the party).. I don`t remember..

Anyway, ripping the ED gphx (monsters for example) would be good idea. Any chance to do that?

It is each time more improbable that I will finish the current ideas with Conflux. I don`t understand what you mean by that. Is it that you`re working on the next Conflux update (Conflux v3.6 or v3.7? not sure...), and when it`s released you`ll give up with this project and leave the resources to t...

Re: Best way to boost levels in each class

War Cry also boosts Fighter levels? If so, the Fighter levels must be the most difficult to raise. War Cry boost influence (hidden priest skill) in earlier versions of DM (1.1) and parry (hidden fighter skill) in later versions of DM (1.2) as well as in CSB. As for DM-CSBwin, is based on Atari vers...

Re: The 2010 UK Election

In Poland, in parliamentary elections 2005 we had 40% turnout, but usually it`s about 50%, sometimes even 60. (I`m talking about parliamentary and presidencial elections here, not local and european, which has always about 20-30% turnout). In 2005 presidencial elections, we had turnout below 50%, th...

The animal holocaust is happening every minute, every hour. Billions of lifes every year. Animal holocaust? It`s not that bad. There were at least 5 global disasters in the past ("extincion events"), that almost completely destroyed the life on earth, probably because of the meteor collis...

Re: "opby" question

Sorry for dumbness, but is it possible to make a trigger, that is operated ONLY by a specific character? Like a floor trigger, that opens a door only when Zed steps on it? Edit: hmm, it could be done by adding to Zed`s inventory a special, Zed-devoted item, that doesn`t exist elsewhere in the dungeo...

Re: Is it possible to... ?

If by some strange circumstance you actually want this, I guess I could add a flag It could look strange with the usual DM renderer because you're not supposed to see things in the walls like that, and I'm not sure if things wouldn't be drawn over the monster in a funny way or something along those...

Re: Is it possible to... ?

In original DM.. actually, you could have been attacked by a monster hidden in a wall. Theoretically. When a monster is staying on an open wall, and a wall is being accidentally "closed" by some reason, the monster is not "trapped" inside, because can still move back or attack (j...

Is it possible to... ?

Since there`s no thread with such questions, I started one ;) 1. Suppose I want to create a special monster, that can walk through everything (like a ghost or smth..). Just like ghosts in DMjava. Since I don`t know the engine structure (the Lua files are mostly the black magic to me), I don`t know i...

I don`t remember if I already asked about that: in DSB, all monsters moves the same speed, no matter the level and distance of the player? http://www.dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/documentation/AIDifferentLevel.html If so, although it`s different in original DM, I think it should stay like it is; slowing...

- PaulH: could the game be sped up, but everything else slowed to compensate? - Sophia: Not easily. Re: Double experience for fear-based attack methods

Testing confirms there is indeed an issue as warcrying a screamer gives priest levels much faster in CSBwin than in DSB. I wonder if this was intentional, a bug in DM or what... What was the "level XP multiplier" value you were warcrying at screamer in DM/CSB - 1 (DM 2nd level) or 4 (CSB ...
