Re: Seeking coders, artists for DM-like game project

However, you should take the advices of the long-time members of this community, I think they deserve a kind of a veto. (see what happened to the LotR-movie, where the fan-community did send members!) If I had the time and the knowledge of modern libraries, I gladly would support you - so I just can...

Re: Trying to find a piece of music...

Re: Trying to find a piece of music...

You don't mean that, hm? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1llNSdf9cl4 no ... you don't :P (is french!!!) There weren' that much 'famous' pure instrumental pieces with that equipment. And you already named the most important musicians. Rick Wakeman did something on his own, but nothing 'famous', also K...

I still own a lot of those jewels, '2nd class' I once sold in such a game-chest - and... even those got sold again (except one football manager). I'd like to add an 'evil experiences'-thread - but wouldn't know lots of those titles anymore.

Think the largest map I had was that of the last tile-based wizardry... Spent lots of time for modifying heretic and hexen. Games that I would call milestones: Bard's tale 1, Dungeon master, Sid Meier's railroad tycoon and civilization, Might&Magic-series, Heretic (not wolfenstein or doom - hate...

Nice thread :) The complexity of Civ 1 was amazing at that time and I loved it sooo much. Civ 2 was already with scripts, wasn't it? And those were pretty buggy in the beginning. I remember I made a brandnew set with lots of funny dialogs, but I never tried to change the values and make a real mod. ...

Yup - and you may put that thing into a museum of computer arts, but better not in a list of computer games... - weird as weird can be.

I know you talk about very old games, but the music I loved most so far was that of Unreal 1. I really should dig out informations about the artist and check if there is more.

My brother just tricked me into guild wars. First thing I spotted was, that the magician's animation is pretty the same like in 'Sacred' (maybe really just licensed or so...). Lots of other things have their roots surely in 'Might&Magic' and 'DungeonSiege'. And GW2 is said to come close to WoW. ...

Ah, there he is! Thanks T0mi, no need to hurry. I figured some timing problems on faster machines - obviously with no clean vsync, or no at all. Then the spellbox leaves white squares after releasing a spell sometimes - and on the dual core machine of my brother, after each 2nd step, just that floor...
