Thanks! The video is useful, there didn't seem to be sound though?
I guess PaulH will take a look when gets the chance, he mentioned some potential improvements and it would be interesting to know if they're still applicable.

Re: Race to Fusion
I shaved a couple of minutes of the DM record to 26 minutes 15 seconds, you can find the recording here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Lgqf-fzuTZK7RDkpCFywhiNk3qQGuQ2O. Also sent it to Paul for verification. I used a new tactic for the zokathra and a new tactic for getting the key of B on the scor...

Re: DMNet : a Dungeon Master multiplayer remake
This looks great! Co-op is a great idea, is there also PvP? Can you "accidentally" lob fireballs into your teammates?
I also saw you did some reverse engineering with three of my other favourite Amiga games: Speedball 2, Gods and Magic Pockets!

Re: Race to Fusion
I had a play around to see if I could discover anything myself. It looked like things were going astray line 2312 CSBUI.cpp (end = current + *(ui32 *)(current-12);), the size it needed to read (for the offset) was actually a byte earlier, so replacing 12 with 16 fixed the issue. I see that's actuall...

Re: Race to Fusion
@Jayrshaw: I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D Does the debug version work? Actually with the debug version as soon as I launched CSBWin I immediately saw "Memory destruction" "Disaster" dialogs which I assumed were fairly fatal (before I made any changes). Commenting out the dialog CSBW...

Re: Race to Fusion
Tricky indeed. Can't say for certain what the cause was, or that it's fixed, but I haven't been able to make it crash so far. My guess is the hacky way I was dealing with carriage returns and line breaks... Here's the new link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kH0jUzJ1YaI85mzJHOqVDTTwMhDjOlwb/view?u...

Re: Race to Fusion
Darn, I'm very sorry about that. I watched it through many times without issue but after downloading and attempting to watch it I also saw crashes. Very strange. Everything should be completely deterministic as far as I'm aware. It's certainly the annotations as removing the annotation file fixed th...

Re: Race to Fusion
I was playing around with the annotation feature in CSBWin and ended up annotating my game. I actually had a look a source code and hacked in some changes so the annotations are displayed in game instead of with a dialog box. The code built surprisingly easily (although only Release, Debug always cr...

Re: Race to Fusion
I managed a modest solo run of 33.8 mins! Nice, that didn't take long! I haven't started trying any solo runs, but I think I'll give it a go. I need to try and decide on speed settings as seems to run quick on my new computer but might just be imagining it. I felt it was faster on my PC with Extra ...

Re: Race to Fusion
It's kind of funny that the game was designed in such a way that you can complete it without actually fighting the vast majority of enemies in the dungeon. Yes I think only the "prisoner" skeleton across the pit on level 3 (which triggers the worms appearing), the beholders on level 9 (or...

Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
Hi there fellow class of '03 member! I still do miss the cool layout we had that Linflas made, with the dark colour scheme Yes I remember this very well and liked it very much, I hadn't realized it was Linflas' work. Was it also Linflas who made custom avatars for a lot of people? I'd like to see if...

Re: Race to Fusion
"Press Escape, it will pause it." that is incredibly useful and I'm not sure how I did not know of its existence! "deftly navigated the dungeon" until I got the boots of speed and lost control many times in the long corridors of level 6! I actually hadn't put too much tho...

Re: Race to Fusion
Paul uploaded the recording here http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/Competition/AntmanDM28m23s.7z. Yes I watched your recording many, many times, only having to kill one pair of worms was very lucky. I had forgotten a huge amount, which gold keys to get, which doors were choppable, the secret gold key ...

Re: Race to Fusion
At least I still have the single character record Yes both resurrected and reincarnated too! Not sure those records will ever be beaten, even with four characters I think I make it to the end of the worms level around the same time you do with just one! Although since I've been practicing a lot rec...

More than 15 years of planning, preparation, practice and perseverance later... (lol), I finished DM in 28 minutes 23 seconds (10217 ticks). I took slightly different approach using four resurrected characters and used a couple of new tricks, one to get passed the worms on level 4 faster and one to ...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
Thought I'd try and finish my game where I try and get all the competition points, I had gotten up to the DSA error at the footprint cleaning area. Paul graciously provided me with a fixed version of the dungeon without the bug so I can continue now :) although it's been a loooong time and it's hard...

I've believe it's at 33,22, you get there from the KU side.
Good luck!
PS if you're playing RTC I'm not sure if it's there or not.

Re: Did some puzzles only get figured out by datamining?
Ah that was it, you can get the Ruby key without using the Winged key, but you still have to at least pick it up. But having another look, it seems there are four 6ths of a second before the pit at (05)07,19 closes when the button at (05)28,18 is pressed, and you need to cover 4 steps to cross the p...

Thanks Paul, the engine has been working fine, haven't encountered any other issues.
And thanks Zyx, still enjoying playing Conflux after all this time!
I don't think I'd gotten up to any red scorpions yet, but I'll watch out for the bug.

Re: Did some puzzles only get figured out by datamining?
I never knew there was a hint to that "Vexing vexirk" in the hint oracle, interesting! I had certainly never solved until I saw Paul do it on one of his speed runs and I had no idea what had happened. I also never solved "Death Row" after trying for a long, long time, only saw th...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

I also ran the recording through from the beginning with the DSA removed from the dungeon.dat, I still got the sequence timing error at the point where the DSA bug was originally occur...

Whoops, WIP008 is actually the version I had played. @Zyx: would it be possible to get a version of WIP008 but with the DSA bug mentioned at the end of this thread (http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=25152&start=480) fixed and no other changes? This would allow me to re...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers
I was actually making a complete recording of Conflux, I'd gotten quite far but had come across the glitch in the view cleaning room. But I see Zyx has released a new WIP008 version, I'd guess that this version is different enough that I can't play the recording through the dungeon... I'll try tomor...

Re: [CSBwin] Conflux III: the Undercity
@Phoenix Yes you don't have to worry about saving and reloading if you want to create a playfile of your game. All you need to do is not delete the automatically generated log files. Then you can just use the last log file created to create a playfile that can be played back in CSBWin. It's very sat...

Re: [CSBwin] Conflux III: the Undercity
Sounds like a good idea. I've got a save game just before I pick up the scroll that causes the error. Picking up the scroll is certainly supposed to activate the "energize ful bomb" DSA/spell but perhaps it is also supposed to disable the "Wash Footprints" DSA/spell as it is no l...
