Re: So, tell us about yourself...
I played the first Witcher, did the first couple of missions but then kind of got distracted and ended up playing something else and never went back to it. My dad got me the Witcher III (Game of the Year edition) a couple of years ago but I've still not got around to installing it :D. One day I wil...

Congrats Gambit on the upcoming baby screamer! I hope all goes well. And sorry to hear about your company Ameena. The timing really sucks. :( I am able to wfh luckily, and I am still healthy. It is a bit lonely of course - my partner is trapped in the UK while I am in Germany, and I am living on my ...

Makes me wish I could switch on my Atari ST and check it out. It probably is somewhere in my parents' house, but I definitely don't own any CRT displays. Those experiences will have to just live on in my memory.

I would love to play a VR version, but I don't have Oculus Rift. I have an old PC and I am pretty sure that it does not meet the required specs. Maybe one day I will upgrade!

Re: Enjoying the Play store version but...
Haven't tried it. At least this one is free - it seems that there has been a constant parade of bug-ridden games using other people's resources and charging money on top. I never tried to get DM to work on Android, always just used my PC (or the ST back in the day). I don't think you will find a com...

Wuffy and I are still running/playing DnD over on a forum-based website called RPOL (Roleplay Online). I checked it out and was tempted to join, but since my last 'short' DnD game involved posting pretty much every day for 2 years I will be more careful this time. :D I also killed the Dragon by onl...

My God, I almost cried when I found all these links and pictures to Dungeon Master...it has been so long, but I loved it so much!!! I don't know what made me think of it again, but seeing the box art and the in-game graphics brought it all back.... So today it is one decade since I first joined the...

Re: The 'Massive-Spoiler Parlour Game': succinctly summarise the stories
Yes, I found it amazing when I understood the logic behind a game that seemed totally chaotic at first, and indeed how simple in structure it was (despite the fact that this simplicity is well hidden). It actually didn't happen until I played it again after joining these forums, but suddenly I had a...

I had seen Nomad Soul a long time ago, but I wouldn't have been able to remember the title. As for the latest screenshot, I am going to second Ameena's guess.

So, I have gone/am going through a Renaissance of my love affair with gamebooks, this time on mobile devices (Android, though most or all are available on iOS too). Here are some quick reviews in the order in which I played them. The Great Tournament (One book) This was the one that started me off. ...

Re: Thankyou for the forum, the joy it's given.
I loved Dungeon Master and played it to death on my ST, but there were only about 3 people in the world who I knew who also played it (and two of those were my brothers). So it sat for a long time as a semi-solitary obsession. Then one morning I woke up with Dungeon Master in my head for some reason...

I get no spam from it, though I suspect it is certainly to keep people engaged in the hope that they will buy new stuff. Then again, I have managed to avoid doing that, despite having only a mediocre level of self control

EA on the house
Firstly, apologies for a post about EA. But for anyone who uses Origin*, it is worth looking out for the free games they give from time to time. They are only available for a limited period, but once you get them you can keep them for good. They had Mass Effect 2 on recently, which is a great game e...

Indeed it is strange that a game from 30 years ago can still keep people entertained (nostalgia wears off quite quickly, so it can't be that...). The graphics are of their time, but they never look 'crap', just simple.

Maybe they removed the scroll but forgot to change the code to remove the spell altogether? Are there any others I didn't notice? I'm sure that I (and most people here) did a pretty exhaustive search through possible rune combinations, and there are no other secret spells (then again, I didn't reali...

Happy New Year everyone!
It does seems unlikely that 2017 will make everything ok. Then again, someone pointed out that 2017 it is the first prime number for the past 6 years, so it could prove less divisive.
