Re: New experiences with an old game...DM

that is, if both pics are of the same spot in the game
Whether or not it is the same spot----the floor is the same and the
walls are different. I think 'parity' of both is determined by the
same 'even-odd' function of location.

Re: New experiences with an old game...DM

I thought maybe the screamer room generators were like that, given how quickly it fills up.
Also maybe the oitus room.

No and no.
Screamers happen when you step on the pad just outside the room.
Oitus happen when you step off the pad in front of the three doors.

Re: New experiences with an old game...DM

would a creature be able to trigger the regeneration switch
Certainly.
This was done in a couple of places in Chaos Strikes back. Tidal waves of worms.
I don't remember any such place in Dungeon Master.

Any 'limit' to how many can regenerate?
No, not in the sense that I believe you mean the word 'limit'.

Re: New experiences with an old game...DM

With my luck, it probably only allows a few rats in a given amount of time
You can fill the room easily. But the generator
has a delay of 127 (about 20 seconds).

Re: A little teaser...

I have received a PM that indicates some confusion about my comment concerning the tiled floor versus the random floor. I think I can clear things up by adding a little context. Interesting that people prefer the original floor. I suspect nostalgia is at play here. For me it is not nostalgia. There ...

For me it is not nostalgia. There is no left, right, up, or down. It all
looks the same and is something I cannot name but will call 'uninteresting'.

You asked!

Re: Race to Fusion

Seems as if you have gone past the end of allocated memory. Whatever
the case, if the debug version does not work then you have a problem
that should be fixed.

If you like, send the changes to me. I have a lot of experience
fixing CSBwin bugs. That's why the debug checks were implemented!

Does the debug version work? If so, I would say that
you got it right.

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

If I can get the playfiles, I will tidy them up and post them at:
http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/Games/C ... ption.html

I wonder if the Conflux wiki:
https://dmwiki.atomas.com/wiki/Conflux
should reference the various playbacks available.

The other thing that can be done.....I can make it into a movie (.mp4)
and then you can watch it with a viewer that allows forward/backward
skipping and single frame display. Let me know if that would be useful.

Which log file did you specify on the command line? (Or drag onto the executable?)
It appears that record00079.log is the last recording...starts at 13333 (about 37 Minutes).

I would wager the "Eye and Pit" puzzle works. Somehow. It might seem broken because: 1) A change in the design. You need to present some particular object, perhaps. Or the switch was moved to a different place. The "Surrender Your Possessions" demonstrates that the design was cha...

Re: DMJ for Android?

I quit. I played CSB for Android on my 7 inch tablet for about three hours. The first hour was spent learning how to use Android and the interface. It was no fun whatsoever. It felt like an Android program written in Java pretending to be a Windows program written in C++ pretending to be an Atari pr...

Re: Slightly confused about CSB and DM

Here are three thoughts: 1) Copy CSBwin from your DM to your CSB directory. 2) I just downloaded: http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/Games/CSB_linux_x86-32_SDL20_20151212.tar And it contains a CSBwin whereas your directory listing appears to be missing this rather critical file. http://dianneandpaul.ne...

Re: DMJ for Android?

CSBuild reports wall switches as being operated by:
1) Anything
2) Hand
3) Special object

This particular switch is operated by 2) - Hand.
Perhaps The DMJ code interpreted this to mean "Empty hand"?

Edit: CSBuild reports that this switch has an audible click.

when I downloaded the CSB (CSBwin_linux_x86-64_SDL20_20180421-1550), I can't seem to do anything with the file? Well, I put it there so I SHOULD know what it is. It appears to be a linux executable. Re: DMJ for Android?

Here is what I understand..... You must visit 3(31,23) to move the rock from 3(6,10) to 3,(6,11). Then you must trigger the eye at 3(20,25) to move the rock from 3(6,11) to 2(8,28). The pad at 2(8,28) will then close the pit at 2(16,20). There are other tricks that make the skeleton easier to manage...

I have no idea how these things work. I am connected right now to:

My browser has a warning saying "Not Secure".

But it has always worked, and still works, just fine for me.
