Re: Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V)

This Black Desert could really fill the big emptyness that happens since Skyrim.
Good that the asian world still loves RPGs - the Wizardry serie surely did a lot for this.

Re: Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V)

Well, and those that avoid friendly fire and this one which allows to manage your compagnons and make them able to ride seems pretty fine too.
In Oblivion I liked the additional markers and the 'where's my horse'-thingy :D

Re: Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V)

It's a great thing that Oblivion as well as Skyrim are in fact nothing else but players with the ability to overload almost everything (so, after all, just engines with a basic frontend included). Then again, modding requires a lot of knowledge, and not all 'secrets' are revealed - which leads to pr...

Re: DM - not real 3D

If you really want to get technical, all graphics rendered on a normal screen are really 2d using perspective to create the illusion of 3d on a 2d surface. About the only way to create true 3d is to use some form of holographic projection technology, or something similar that creates a true 3d imag...

Not an easy task, when the bad guy faster regenerates than the screamers can hit :D

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original

Sure, just plain savegames from an original run - of the DM2-PC-version. Maybe there will be version-dependent differences, but those are of interest too. Playing the english version that is available in the pedia in DOSbox generates good savegames as well - so, whoever gives it a try again, I'll be...

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original

There's so much to do that I can hardly test, so I use a savegame close to the beginning and close to the end. That includes all basic operations, like handling items, animation steps, battling, spellcasting - but hardly includes all of the actuator mechanics. I could easily give coords to the party...

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original

The problem is: how to add game elements that people want to have, but keep the (mathematical) balance of the game. You could play DM2 easily without using the shops at all. If there should be a real advantage using them, you'd have to make it practically impossible to play without them. That's leve...

Still, that work is more incredible than anyone of us can imagine.

Just amazing! Matching up with the compiler... so, digging out all the compiler's patterns in all their dependencies... Re: FINALLY!!

I wonder if I have a savegame that proves how close I came to this goal. Is it possible to kill all without having continued respawns? At least it was my intention when I tried with my DM and CSB versions - to test if the code survives on huge stockpiles etc. It did! I remember original Black Crypt ...

Have a note about missing MSVCP100.DLL and MSVCR100.DLL runtimes and the way to fix it... It's a mess if it's not already in the system, because you cannot place dll's simply to a folder in c:/program files today because of the protection, The installer can... Here in germany there's just the discussion, because telecom wants to restrict the access speed from a certain traffic amount on. This could be used to create kind of 'veteran' imps. They will start a work only if they get enough candlelight to end the task, because if there is anything imp-ortant, then this. An imp without candlelight is nothing anymore - he'll hide ashamed in some corner ('burn out' becomes a real meaning by...

There is enough older stuff one can buy for a few bucks - which is really worth the money then. Simply don't buy the newest stuff from the big ones all the time. Don't ask what this all meant to a developer... Think my very first contact with the internet was the University of Melbourne to get the Scitech-graphic-cards-driver-pack.
