Re: Guess the game

I must admit, my last one was to 'intentionally' draw Ameena in. Ha. Worked too. By the way, Ameena. Do you tend to save the game before going into a shop? I always have, since saving it beforehand, allows the shop to change wares every time you enter. Better selections I tend to save the game a few...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

Any 'guide' preference? Challenge: You mean to take the scroll on the guild floor and accomplish certain quests and pick up some special items? I've never paid any attention to this Challenge until this last time. I may have to open up my last saved game and actually look at the scroll (which I at l...

Re: Gardening

I've noticed a number of my 'runt' beefsteak tomatoes are turning red. I'll have to take a 'close up' picture, if I intend to impress anyone with the size of them.

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

Wow, Phoenix. I had no idea it took so long for a play-through for someone who had won a number of times. Getting through DM (I tend to use one champion to get to the screamer room, then go back for another champion to finish the game) doesn't take all that long, especially if I don't stop to do eve...

Ameena: Point well taken. And it was the first game I remember that, just hearing the music at the beginning, makes me smile.

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

Phoenix and Antman: How long does it take for you guys to get through a game now, from start to finish? I remember the first time I ever tried hurrying to win original DM. That was before I had ever heard of a 'speed' run. It seems it took nearly 14-hours. That was with no internet, as well as knowi...

Re: Conflux III discussion thread - potential spoilers

It is hard to believe, after actually finishing this game once, that I find myself 'totally in the dark' at all the options and extras I've never even heard of in this great game. The Night Shadow. Does this cloak help that much? I must not have checked stats, or I might have made use of this interes...

Re: Guess the game

I didn't even realize they had made Bard's Tale Three. I checked it out a bit (YouTube). The last Bard's Tale I purchased was not like these three at all. It was a 'run all over the place' type of game. I tried playing it for a few hours, but gave up, feeling I was wasting my time and expecting the ...

I tnoiced that it was apparently 20 years today I joined this forum! O.O I'm guessing the same sort of timescale is true for a couple of others around, even if you haven't noticed! Anyway, cool to see the place still going, new dungeons still being released, etc. Just wanted to say 'hey' in honour ...

Vis: Me, hanging my own head in shame. I looked through a large number of comments on that thread, but I somehow missed that one. Sorry. I quickly lost interest in Bard's Tale 2. My oldest son and I picked up the PC Bard's Tale available now. No comparison to the excitement of the original, although...

Re: Guess the game

One of the great disappointments in the Atari ST Bard's Tale. I went to a lot of trouble, trying to get the opportunity to use that item (Dork Ring). I believe I tried it on the room with four bunches of 99 berserkers. Didn't do much damage, by the way. Ha. Hard to believe how quickly that one was a...

Well, I believe I now know why do many of the DM gang were so entertaining...over-medicated, and not with 'calming' meds either. Ha. I now have 12 or 13 tomatoes growing. Still a few blossoms that might change.

Chaos-Shaman: Thanks for the personal note. You must have massive vegetables in your garden.

I may post a picture or two, but only after I think the tomatoes aren't grape-size.

Re: [RTC] Return to Skullkeep, beta-tested version

You can deal with twisters the same way you can deal with scepters and ghosts, if that is what you ask. I'm still working on getting a few spells together, right now, so that will be a little farther down the road. Still, thanks for information. P.S. I laughed at myself, quite a bit, in the first 1...

I've started noticing this problem elsewhere, so it may be something to do with my computer settings.
Just thought I should mention this, since I was the one who brought up the problem in the first place.

The weapon replicator can be found at the bottom of the path to the Sudden Death. The only problem with it is that it can only be used once. There are many items that are meant for specific champions. Sonja can wield Leviathon with bonuses and without penalties. The crystal sword can damage anyone ...

I haven't encountered the twisters yet. Are they in the original? If so, I guess it's been too long since the last time I played it.
Are there any 'usable' spells for the twisters? Distance is my friend.

Theo: I noticed a person has to 'choose' stonekeep before being able to play it.
Will this single game pick, eventually have the potential to have multiple games/mods to pick from in that list?

Not that would be a wonderful thing; all games being accessible from the same spot.

The Pit Room wasn't that difficult for me, even the first time. Surprising, that one room is easy for one person, while another person seems to have very little trouble with another. I remember playing Wolfenstein 3D the first time. I have a younger brother, who was probably 30 at the time. He playe...
