Re: [RTC] Return to Skullkeep, beta-tested version
Guess I spoke too soon. Figured out why the axe wouldn't sharpen. Life is much better in the adventure now. Also found out a good jump into a hole, is better than a bad fight. And you occasionally find a good 'new' spot from which to travel into the unknown. Made the mistake of running out of good t...

Re: Gardening
The tomatoes I grew this year were smaller vine type, indeterminate. So I have red 1 1/2" ones, 2" zebra ones and 3" zebra beefsteaks which are all almost done. I live in S Ontario. I give most of my tomatoes away to friends neighbors and family when the first flush hits. Zebra Beefs...

Re: [RTC] Return to Skullkeep, beta-tested version
Decided to take a little time with RTS (not RTC, ha). Enjoyed my first transfer of magical signs from a purchase of potions in the cavern. Scratching my head from what seems a lack of scrolls laying all over the place (good old DM). Killed my first Behemoth (whatever the unfriendly cow species might...

Amazing that such things can stir such reactions :-D I admit I didn't understand your up/down comment, but that's ok. I don't understand a lot of things. Ha. Honored to know we share this understanding of ourselves. It keeps us studying, doesn't it? Sphenz: Thanks. I would simply love seeing someth...

Re: A little teaser...
I often wonder if it's a mistake to start showing things to people... so many opinions :D  Every dungeon crawler has taken liberties with what looks good vs. what would actually work structurally. If you look at Captive, EOB, even Legend of Grimrock, they all have discrete ceiling blocks in t...

All the way to the eighth season. Does anyone else GROAN when you get so close to the end, only to find one disk skipping, sticking and stopping? And this was a new set too. Next to the last disc. Why am I made to suffer?

P.S. 20,000 posts? I figure Beo was the only person who ever actually reached that high plateau.

It also reminds me how underwhelming the DM skeletons are. Most other monsters in DM, even though they are low resolution, have a lot more charm and/or realism. I agree with you. The shields they carry also seem a little underwhelming, as well. I really like the new and improved shield that Gambit ...

Thanks for the information, Gambit.
Do you also plan, eventually, to make the dragon into an actual dragon?
Tyrana-Rex, or whatever her name is, is an odd looking dragon. My humble opinion, which of course is right. Oops.

Weird tomato situation. While some of the tomatoes turned red while being about thumb-sized,
a number of them are still growing, some already larger than a silver dollar (if anyone remembers silver dollars).

THEO: "...In my mod expect to get it much later." Ha. Have you been hanging around ZYX, my friend? It actually does make sense, although 'lazy' is a wonderful concept. Please tell me the Fireball can be used a bit earlier? Guess I'd better start 'hoarding' the torches. Hee, hee, hee. Maste...

Re: [RTC] Return to Skullkeep, beta-tested version
I decided to go ahead and spend a little time with RTS. Not getting that far yet. I can sharpen my weapons. Ha. I do have a spellbook now. I'm a little confused on this. Is there a place to purchase the symbols to put in this book, or will I find scrolls that can be automatically written into the bo...

Re: A little teaser...
I'm curious about the logistics of using a smaller shield, in comparison to the much larger (and interesting) shield. Do you have to constantly be pixel-conscious, or is there even a limit to how much information is allowed in a certain amount of room, when bringing the actual 'square' used to draw ...

That's how it started at my house. Now I have three children (youngest 21 now) of four, who have played Dungeon Master.
Thanks for carrying on with the story, Journeyman. Always interesting to read Dungeon Master stories, at least for me.

Poor Tiggy. All alone in a vast dungeon, wondering what dangers lie ahead. Wondering also if the bare essential for sustenance will be within his (hmm, is Tiggy indeed a male?) grasp. Definitely enjoyed the first installment, Journeyman. P.S. Tiggy, early on, was always one of my selections of four....

My visual update to DM/CSB remains in low resolution. I'm slowly updating all the creatures through pixel editing, which is a huge undertaking. But I'm not sure how far to go with the changes. Here's an example of the skeleton. Which do you prefer? The one that still remains close to the original s...

I'm a little disappointed with myself, given the way 'old baldy' is dropped to his doom.
And it was a little gratifying, hearing his dying scream, as well.

I watched series 1-4 when it first aired in the UK. It's enjoyable "upstairs/downstairs" stuff, although the relationship between the family and the staff would never have been like that in reality. But like a lot of these series, it went on far too long in my opinion and I got bored of i...

Sounds like a plan! I'll take my trusty sling and go dragon hunting.
We can have some smoked dragon steaks, a loaf of bread and maybe cook up some of those ears of corn in the embers.

At least I can sleep better, knowing it wasn't a simple riddle that showcased my ineptitude.
I enjoyed that section. Fighting and blasting my way through the many creatures in that area was a real challenge.

Downton Abbey
Found the first two seasons for a very low price, so I purchased them. Became 'hooked' on this series. I purchased the entire (eight season) collection. Currently on season seven. I just found out they made a movie, after completing the series, so I'll eventually get that. I have long periods of tim...

I finally decided to go ahead and pick a number of my 'cherry-sized' beefsteak tomatoes. Ha. They surely don't taste like any cherry tomatoes I've ever eaten. Decent flavor. I put, I think, eight slices on a piece of bread. Massive, right? Anyway, they are tasty but confusing. Perhaps my granddaught...

RE: Phoenix (Supplies for the Strong). That wasn't what I had in mind.
The stairs that lead from the guild floor, down several floors to the room with the wall-switch that opens the sewers (nasty place to find accidentally).
Around the far corridor, there is a 'hanging' branch or wand.

Ha. And I surely enjoy the 'fruity' flavor of the occasional screamer slice.
I did make sure to kill the dragon (old Rex, as I call him) with a chunk of Corbomite again, the last time through.
Charred Rex steak. Good eating, to be sure.

Long lost wand: Is that the wand that seems to be hanging in the air, early in the game?
I never figured that (branch, as I recall) puzzle out.
