In the save game menu, a games options menu could be added.
In that menu, it would be possible to set game options such as difficulty, some game attributes such as game version (is there a lockpick in square X? etc.), or more general gameplay characteristics
(use runebooks, type of lighting management, etc.) These options can even be game-specific, or even module specific. Some options are even "options packagesé", for example specifiying "Amiga Version" would uncheck the "Can drink directly from fountain" option and set or unset many others. It is also possible to load/save these options so as to not have to redo the work each time.
Well, this is not the most important "wanted" item, but it would be very useful to test "game variants" easily.

Hmmm - I think most of these options that alter the gameplay of the dungeon should be (and can be) only controlled by the designer of a dungeon, and not by the player.
The remainder can already be set in the config.txt file at the start of a game (and would cause some problems with some of the internal caching if they were changed mid-way through)
