A possible bug (since I don't know whether this was intentional or not):
Using a weapon's "Slash" Action in RTC increases characters'
Ninja Skills, instead of their Fighter Skills.
According to these two reference pages in the DM & CSB Encyclopedia:
here and here², "Slash" is supposed to increase a hidden Fighter Skill.

Ah, I see. I guess the designers thought that way about "Stab" but not about "Slash"George Gilbert wrote:Nope, that wasn't intentional (though slashing seems more of a ninjary sort of thing than a fightery thing hence why I originally had it that way)
With this change, a lowly Dagger can once again be used to increase either skill.
That's excellent!George Gilbert wrote:http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Ninjary

Actually, although it is different from FTL, I found that solution quite reasonable and assumed it was intentional. That way the sabre became a nice weapon for ninjas and fighter/ninjas. So I doubt whether this really should be fixed. If it is fixed once again there's no reasonable close combat weapon for ninjas except for the diamond edge, which you usually only gain quite late in the course of the game. I'd prefer a dual-class sabre before a dual class dagger anyway.
Since "slash" is once more mentioned to be a hidden fighter skill: Does RTC use any of the various hidden skills at all? My impression is, that RTC is not as sophisticated there as FTL, but since these mechanisms are largely invisible to the player it is hard to tell accurately.
