[Fixed for V0.45] Attacking monsters using a chest

Post by Lunever »

Ha! After writing the above post I made one last try, failed, reloaded and hacked a couple of times frustrated on my keyboard without even looking. Seems that the force has been with me, suddenly I've been to the other side, and this shot probably was one in a million.

The following battle has been a bit hard since I just had used up all Mana in trying to improve the situation by casting countless speed aura spells and testing if any of the map functions was of any use. Eyes of time saved my butt though, that and a lot of saving.

And then - victory? No, RTC crash. Reload, try again, victory - nope, RTC insists on crashing after displaying the message from Dragoth's boss. Unfortunaltely it crashes before creating the score.

I'll send you diags and savegame along, George.

K, tried the savegame on a different machine too now, result remains the same:

RTC (V0.44) Diagnostic file - Sat Mar 10 16:01:03 2007

Error:
an access violation exception.

Stack Dump:
RTC.DrawStatsBufferAttacks();
RTC.DrawStatsBuffer();
RTC.ProgStateStatsInit();
RTC.DoFrame(int 217);
RTC.WinMain();

What has been causing the crash?

That is, ist there a way to properly finish my game and generate a score in V0.44?

The crash was caused simply by a bug when drawing out the end of game stats. It only affects some save games (it depends on how you've played the game; in particular whether a chest has been used to cause damage to a monster!) and several other people have already finished DM-II with V0.44.

Your scores for that game are already up on the gHoC.

Is there a way to reimport a DMII.RTC containing the score details for the local hall of champions, or does this only work with a new V0.45 RTC.exe?

Hm? I only just said in the other threads my specs:

Intel core 2 CPU T5500 1,66 GHz / 982 MHz, 896 MB RAM, Win XP Pro, DirectX 9.0c

Game's been running at 56 FPS average.

Difficutly has been archmaster for my favourite reimported veteran party (Lor, Kazai, Buzzzzz, Petal, levels ranging from On-Master to Archmaster).

Yet, difficulty shouldn't change anything, since it only affects monster speed as far as I know, but the teleporters there are I think controlled by relays, which should work consistently, no matter the diffficulty setting.
