[Not a bug] Examine action doesn't trigger

Post by Gambit37 »

Further to my thread in the general RTC section, it appears that the "Examine" convert type doesn't work, or at least it doesn't work with ACTION_OBJECT_ACTIVATing a plot screen.

It's not triggering because there's not an object type for your new item to convert to (specifically, when examining an object you don't want it to convert to nothing - i.e. vanish - so this special case deliberately does not work).

Set your object to convert to itself and it should work as you want.

Weird, I thought I'd already tried that. OK, will check it out.

OK, your suggestion worked. I miust have mixed things up previously.

Of course, it means you can'd do it in one go -- you have to create the cloned item, then once it's created, go back and edit it so that the item is available to select for the convert option.
