Dungeon Master - 10mm miniature game (scratch build)

Post by peppepeo »

Hello everybody,
I'm a miniature painter and I like to build games.
I've tried many times to export DM to a 3d miniature games but I've found the 25/30mm scale was too big to make a good and big dungeon.
So I found some 10mm miniatures for the heroes, ghosts, skeletons and mummies (from Pendraken Miniatures) that fitted well for a DM adventure and I scratched the others monsters and walls.

They are very small and gave me the opportunity to build enough walls and floors without became crazy!

For the walls I used the Lego type bricks of Hirst Arts that worked well for the floor too.

Here are some pics (made with a phone camera and some are blurry, sorry).
I hope you like it!

Wow, these are really great :D Amazing to feel that DM spirit in such tiny real-world figures and sets - looks excellent. Sows the seeds for a tabletop DM or some kind of board game maybe? :)

These are amazing, :).
Adapt the old HeroQuest rules or something to kick things off, have player turns then a DM turn, could be cool.
Or maybe have the rooms randomly generate as in the old Space Hulk single-player rules (from Deathwing?)... team versus random monsters...
...I'm old. I really want to roll some dice again now... :)

There should be a market for this sort of thing: the look and feel of the original Dungeon Master is so powerful you can see it's influence in so many other areas.
The stonework walls? Pristine. The floor? Level. The waterworks? Flowing. Central heating? The Dragon in the basement was grumpily heating the pipes. Lord Chaos consulted the blueprints again, looking for the bathroom. #playmygame!
