Poison Dart

Post by Erik Bauer »

Quick question about this weapon: do poison darts actually poison the enemy (like poison bolt spell does) or is it just a fancy name?
I'm asking because DM Encyclopedia just shares the damage value.

Thank you

Poison darts do not actually poison their target. It is only a fancy name.
A champion can be poisoned by: a creature with this ability, a slime projectile or a poison bolt projectile. A poisoned champion will take periodic poison damage while being poisoned.
Creatures cannot be poisoned, which means they will not take periodic poison damage.
However note that they do take poison damage when hit by a slime projectile or a poison bolt projectile, and the damage value is adjusted with their poison resistance. But this is a one time event, unlike champions who can stay in a poisoned state for some time (until their death, healing or when the poison effect wears out)
