using syscard3 to open TH-Q

Post by Robyn Lansford »

I downloaded magic engine and put syscard3 in the same directory.
When I run magic engine, I can choose syscard3 from the boot CD option.
PC engine Super CD Rom System opens but it wont run TH-Q. I've downloaded Daemon Tools and mounted TQ.cue. What am I doing wrong or not doing at all? TQ.cue shows as a 2 KB file. Is that right?

Have you run decode.bat to uncompress the audio tracks?

Also, you may have to configure the CD-ROM drive to use in the pce.ini configuration file.

Yes, I was able to run decode.bat and changed the .ogg files to .wav files.

I do not know how to configure the CD-ROM to use the pce.ini config file. Do I do this with Daemon Tools? What part of Daemon Tools do I configure to use the pce.ini file? I even burnt TH-Q to a CD and magic engine won't run it either. Magic-E comes up, I select (boot CD) then I select sys card 3.0 It loads to the PC Super CD Rom System, I hit run, it loads, and the play screen (with the hand and finger) appears. I select play and it takes me back to the PC Super CD Rom System screen. I followed every direction in the downloads section for TH-Q and I still cant get the game to play. I have never played TH-Q so I am looking forward to it. DM was a game before its time. HELP!

Sounds to me like Magic Engine isn't finding a CD so it is bringing up the Audio CD Player. Try this:

Open up your pce.ini. Then go to a line that looks something like this:

; CD-ROM drive letter
; --
; (Windows 2000/XP only)
;
; D:
; E:
; ...
;

drive_letter=E:

Change the link that reads "drive_letter=???" to whatever your drive letter is.

Example: If your drive letter is F the line would read "drive_letter=F:"
