H167 - ZYTAZ ZONE

Post by DjArcas »

Now this is interesting... (?)

H167 - ZYTAZ ZONE
Be careful where the party steps in this area, the Zytazes are easily alerted.
Certain objects may help to prevent Zytazes from multiplying.
One of the objects is the Crown of Nerra.
The other object is the Pendant Feral.

Now, looking through the code, I can see the two 'boost' lines (ie the code that alters your stats when wearing these...) but I *can't* see ANY code that might alter the spawning of these things... any ideas, anyone? :)

It's not in the code, it's in the dungeon database (i.e. - the map itself). There are several pads on the top level that activate Zytaz generators. However, these pads DON'T activate if you're wearing said items...

You can find these pads using DMute.

Ahhhh. It seems I still have much to learn. Actually, the more code that sits in the dungeon, the better, much more flexible :)

I just checked this using DMUTE and the pads in question are at (17,30,0) and (32,29,0). Note that these offsets are DMute's offsets - CSB for Win may be different.

You can check the ascii dump of a saved game too (the co-ordinates are the same), it should tell you the same thing
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!
