Heal Spell

A thread devoted to this rather contraversial spell idea.

Personally I like the idea, though can see why some players may think that it is against the ethos of the game ie flasks are for healing. I say just make the hit points gained fractionally smaller than the points gained through a potion.

Proposed runes: VI KATH NETA (vitality radiates to all team members via God)

Ratio of health gained to Mana expended: around a half to a third of that gained through a potion per person. So, as it will be spread through say four people, a spell of equal mana expenditure of a potion will gain a member of the party around a tenth of the health from said potion.

So in all, it may be useful in certain situations, but not all, as you may want to channel that mana into your very nearly dead wizard for example rather than the very health fighters as well.

use the model of the heal spell in the sceptre of lyf, etc for ratio - don't be too hard on yourself, but it would be good for it to be quite a low ratio - a 'do or die' spell to keep a party running away from losing members, or keeping it alive in an ambush, but nothing like VI

have the spell start to kick in around artisan level for priests...by this time VI is starting to get quite powerful anyway

Try for = strength onwards being actually useful...by the time a priest is here, then there are also other spells such as strength potions and fireshields that will draw mana away, so giving tactical choice

Explosive/radiating.... the runes can be intepreted in many ways, and many seem to have a different interpretation in context of the effect of the spell anyway.

true, i'm was just guessing the consensus would be ir/bro for a healing spell, leaving kath for more energetic spells - maybe a vi kath neta would be a health boosting spell - temporarily raising the maximum health of a party by a certain amount (50 health)
